For my part is I don't want to deal deal with even 4 players on my team potentially being trolls/afks/suicides/etc... I mostly just want to get on ts with my friends and drive stompy robots together without worrying about grieifng from our own team. this issue we (Pug/Premades) share except premades are trying to actively avoid it and pugs (currently) are forced to hope for the best. May point continues to be the issue is not "8 mans are complaining that it's too tough to play without their advantage" but that is how some choose to frame it. (I won't deny some do feel that way but I would wager the majority doesn't).

The problem with forcing players to deal with the trolls/afks/suicides/etc... is that those elements often preclude a 'good' game not a win or a loss, but the hope for a hard fought even battle. Yes you can win down a mech or two but often you don't, often it's not just a loss it's a beatdown, and contrary to what these arguments would have you believe very few people actually enjoy delivering or receiving constant beatdowns. 8 mans mitigate that issue to basically only bug related drops, which while not uncommon the losses are sight fewer than you receive when dealing with randoms. I'm not advocating Pug stomps, i'm advocating a change in the language and more understanding, i really want the 8 man v 8 man, because it should allow me everything i've been looking for.

You said it yourself you made the active choice to PUg and Premades made an active choice not to, the major difference is the option to enjoy the game the way you want to has not been directly impacted in a way that reduces your ability to play they way you chose to. Personally I think the increased hostility from the "pre-made" camp is more about having successfully implemented a work around to griefers we were forced back into dealing with them and required to play with less of our friends in a single stroke. However temporarily it may be that would be a little upsetting because it fundamentally changes the game for us, even if you don't agree or want to run in a "pre-made" you can at least honestly understand where the "premade" camp is coming from when it is laid out calmly right? Because i'll tell you what I'm annoyed at both sides when it degenerates into acrimony and shouting.

This is the first argument against phase 1 that I can understand and appreciate. I didn't understand the "playing with my friends" complaint because I'm in a large corp that usually had 2 groups running anyway so splitting up into smaller groups wasn't that big a deal.

As for the assumption premades are just whining they can't roflstomp pugs anymore ... we all saw the finely tuned death teams and know at least some of them are buthurt they can't keep farming pugs.

I personally only find the afkers/griefers a minor nuisance when 4 manning it but I can see why it would be a major turn-off for some.

Since when did PUG mean new player? Do not assume that all PUGs are new, incompetent or Rambos. If I am on the side of a premade I will readily assist them, gladly. Because.. I know this is going to sound stupid....they are on MY team. I would also like to know exactly how somone KNOWS that another player is afk? You can't know. Yes, we have some really moronic players out there that shoot other players in the back, TK and suicide. The only good thing that comes from that is that both sides have pretty much the same chances of getting these rejects in their team. Call it a chaos factor and move on. Life isnt perfect. War is chaos. I know you are thinking.. "I thought war was hell?" Wait.. how did I know that? Right.. I was assuming.

I'll be glad when I can hire out as a merc to any team that needs to fill a gap. I personally dont play on others schedules and my experiences with premades hasn't been so hot. I have found what on the surface appears to be a nice group, ends up being run by elitists.. or.. people that simply wont mesh with my twisted sense of humor. There are lots of valid reasons for not wanting to be in a premade group, but I assure you that as soon as I get with a group who is more like-minded as me, I will be there.. stomping the crud out of all of you. PUG and Premade alike.

I have been in the closed beta then to the open beta and what i have seen so far is PGI caters to the whiners when they change something in game. And then pug players complain about fighting 8 man groups, and what do we get! A 4 man group system, which is a joke because people can't work together or group up with others to play against 2 full lances. Also where is phase 2 (OB dates change) that was supposed to be in place as of nov 20. Anybody seen it yet,lol pgi your slipping down hill and lots of people are losing faith in your ability to keep promises you make.

In a way PGI is punishing merc lances out there and making an issue where they are going to lose more money from the loyalists of MWO / BT due to their business model now catering to pug players and whiners.

Not just that, more game modes are needed + maps or even the talked about meta portion of the game. Don't get me wrong i do like the game it's just the direction PGI is heading in is shaky at best..

It's garbage.

They are catering to the whining players who don't know their role.

Perfect example;

SSRM2 has 270m range. Commando comes in to fight you within range. Commando dies.

Who's idiotic idea was it to attack a heavy toe to toe with lock on missles? It wasn't the streaks fault, let me tell you...

Besides, if PGI spent more time fixing code, ping and video issues, most of us wouldn't resort to lock ons and rather pick weapons that require skill that cannot be used right now because the code won't allow it.

How would you feel if you aimed your UAC5 shells and watched them explode on a mech that does no damage, or seeing damage when your shell is clearly out of view. I mean come on, how much leading do we have to do here? In a dogfight, leading 4 mech lengths is a joke!

Also, how would you feel if a Jenner overheated in front of you, because the ***** thinks his mech is a battle mech, and you lay into it with everything you have, just to find no damage was caused? Light mech pilots love it - easy C-bills and no costs.

when noobs sink their teeth into a game, it ruins games. That's why most games die out quickly.

But moron noob mech pilots standing still to a UAC5 barrage, die, and now the UAC5 jams on first shot, and spends more time asleep than firing.

"Whiners" = term used by childish, arrogant players who somehow think that complaints and arguments from other players are always worthless. Of course, their own complaints are never "whine"...

MWO is a F2P. With short-format gameplay designed mainly for casual play (meaning you don't need to grind 2 months to start pvp HL). It is obvious that the number of PuG players will greatly outnumber the number of players acting in teams. I wouldn't be suprised if the ratio was over 5 to 1. So of course PGI is going to make sure teams don't always stomp all over pugs, because it would threaten their financial health. And it's better with some limitation, because one-sided stompings are uninteresting.

PGI, please dont stop catering to pugs! :D I am certain a lot of the players are (semi-)casual players who will never join an 8 man group, I know some that create 4 man groups, but thats about it.

You can stop catering to whiners though, especially the ones that post forum topics that whine )

Yeah, how dare PGI cater to their biggest player group! Shame on them! [/sarcasm]
