I did I clean reinstall as suggested here:

http://mwomercs.com/...-this-may-help/

I found I am having .NET 4.0 installed, not 3.5 as suggested in that thread. Could this be a Problem?

This machine is also using DX11. Would it be better for MW:O to downgrad to 9c?

For both issues... I'd suggest checking the links in the thread you posted...

The one lets you download MS .NET Framework 3.5 (multiple version of .net on your system is fine) as well as the link there for DirectX... it downloads and installs 9.0c...

At this time for DirectX... MW:O only utilizes DirectX 9... there's no support for DX11, yet... that's coming hopefully not too far away...

Good luck to you...

You cannot 'downgrade' DX11. If you have Windows 7, you have both DX11 and DX9c. It will run in whatever DX version the software is compatible with, in this case, 9c.

When they implement DX11 functionality, you will likely have an option of choosing which to use.

DX11 will(ostensibly) offload more processing power to the GPU, meaning less CPU load(which is most people's bottleneck, currently). If you have a crappy video card but an acceptable processor, it will likely be in your best interest to run it in 9c.

With respect to .Net, you're fine with 4. If you have Windows 7, then 3.5 is installed by default and cannot really be removed. 4 is an optional install addon, which is why it appears as uninstallable in 'Programs and Features' and 3.5 does not.

Thanks for your reply Bucklar. It explains everything very easily understandeable for me and dissolves my confusion . I am taking your advice reg. DirectX version to hard and will remember it, since i DO have a crappy GPU but acceptable CPU :(.

Can be closed.
