So Let's Talk Modules

I actually like them all except the advanced zoom
360- good for scout to hold targets while facing away. Good for larger mechs to hold targets if enagged by more nimble mechs. Of course that is mainly for LRM support, but man its great if you have that cata sitting 800m away behind a hill.
Sensor Range- Anyone not able to see the value of this module, especially for LR and scout mechs, needs to do some thinkin...especially when combined with BAP (1120 is the longest range I have seem anything so far.)
Cap assist- I had this in closed beta. Its ok, I question whether it is worse a module slot though. Especially at the price
Adv Zoom- The pixelation is distracting and I hate the feel. I would much prefer the module just made the 4x zoom whole screen just like the regular zoom modules. Perhaps PGI can offer both types?
Target Acquisition- A specialized module, mainly for scouts, but also useful for battle commanders. Getting that info faster in a scout mech means less time they can see you and return fire.

Scratch that one for me.. I don't see any use of them, besides using a BAP+Sensor Range + Tag for spotters to be used in conjunction with LRM boats.
So far they cost so much GXP and money that I'm seriously planning to wait for better modules to show up.. worth the cash and the xp.
Besides this, I do really hope they plan to allow a purchased module to be available to be equipped freely on every mech I own, without me searching through my owned mechs to dismount it and mount it back in the mech I want to use at the moment.

I have them all (though I admit I never use the advanced zoom).

I have unlocked all but the 360 Radar module.
I have purchased all but the 360 Radar and Cap Accellerator.
I have the Rapid Target Detail and Sensor Range Boost modules equiped at all times.

Extreme cost for little gain.
Rather buy better guns, or an entirely different mech.

What I DO think is stupid is that the actual modules cost the same after the first one. They should charge you GXP and CB for the first module you buy, then charge you a slight surcharge for the rest of them. Maybe 50-100k. That way I dont have to swap them around after I setup my mechs.

They don't have 5 million C-bills and 10,000 GXP worth of value, though.
Like others, I'll wait until a lot more options are available. GXP takes so long to get it'd be unwise to waste it.
5 million C-bills is an upgraded medium 'mech! So, using PGI's ridiculous 'mech prices, that's $8.
Maybe when I run out of 'mechs I want to buy, I'll get some.

I agree. It'd just be an annoyance.

360 radar-Good for close range Mechs but that's about it. It's only really important for keeping targets for missile locks for allies. It's 15k but I've no idea why... because it's not that great. Unless you're trying to keep a target lock for missile boats... you'll probably never even notice this thing is active. It's not really going to help you in a fight but will help the guys with missiles far away keep that target locked. For 15k and little effect however; it's hard to justify this overpriced module.
Faster cap-Probably the best module, but also among the most expensive. This one would get you wins eventually due to cap races or allow you to finish a cap before enemies showed up to stop you. This is a must grab for offensive base rushers or offensive brawler players in general. The issue is the cost; 15k. Unlike the above however; this one would actually be worth it. If you find that you almost never hit the enemy base however, then obviously avoid this.
Radar Range-This is a useful module because longer radar range means detecting enemies before they detect you and helps spotting them for allies with LRMs. So many battles in this game are long range standoffs at 1k+ meters. This is helpful in that regard. If you have this yourself an enemy doesn't, then you could, in theory, shoot locked on LRMs at them while they're unable to target you to do the same due to inferior range. Targeting farther away means shooting LRMs farther away. So naturally, this is very helpful with LRMs... but not much with any other weapon. If you don't like LRMs... it's hard to justify this purchase. You don't need a target lock to shoot a Gauss Rifle at an enemy. But it's is also one of the cheapest modules; only 5k. This means you can't go wrong with this if you like LRMs or want to help out the LRM boats that will always inevitably be on your team in long range shoot outs. Even if they don't have the module, they can still use your superior detection to lock and fire. So regardless of what you are shooting, this is helpful to a team in long range sniper/missile wars and is among the cheapest modules to pick up.
Target Info Speed-Utter trash. Do people even look at the top right in this game? I almost never do and when I do, a faster info display wouldn't change anything. 99% of players probably don't even know there's a box up there. People that do use the box aren't going to feel that fights are made any different by having it pop up slightly sooner. Like the Advanced Zoom, stay away from this one. It's 10k right down the toilet. My advice? Go with a different module. I wouldn't ever consider this or the zoom unless they were the last 2 options to be purchased and the module cap didn't exist. It's a "last choice on Earth" type deal with these 2.
