currently is more like 50 damage on CT and maybe 10 damage somewhere else, coupled with the fact that its not a single blown, but a constant stream with rocking and blinding smoke on top of it. in 5 seconds sustained fire a cat can and will strip off the back and front armor of an atlas. the problem is NOT on the other guy.

But that's not the problem, the problem is that Streak Cats barely need any aiming skill at all.
If they sneak up on you why would they really need to aim? Pretty easy to shoot someone in the back no matter what weapon your using....

Too busy alt-tabbed spamming the forums with RAGE about streak cats to fight you." OMG STEAK CAT SO OP I DON'T EVEN BOTHER ATTACKING THE EXPLOITERS!" that or they're like 90% of the player base and just shoot the floor with all their weapons assigned to 1 till they over heat 19 times in a row THEN go on the forums to rage about streak cats killing them

Did you even read any of the several posts in this thread detailing Streak-Cat tactics with a four man lance? The streak-cat already has missile lock before he has visual on you, cannot miss and will chew through your back armour before you can turn! Pretty easy to hit is not the same as gauranteed kill.

Doesn't really matter what they use. Any heavy mech going after your back armor will chew you up in moments. If my AC/20 Cat gets behind you at a range of 250 - 400, your dead...

Not withstanding that your using a build that is only any good because it uses a technical exploit with the front L/R torso critical size, which should hopefully be resolved soon, an AC/20 cat is IMHO nowhere near as dangerous as a streak cat and has massive limitations when fighting mechs of greater manouvrabiltiy.
On paper it would seem that the AC20-Cat is inferiror to the streak cat. It is slower, carries less ammo and costs more to build, cannot shoot to the sides or behind as the streak cat can and cannot mount jumpjets and doesnt cause the violent cockpit rock that the SC does, this would sugest that it is possibly a lesser build. Opinion polls of players say the streak cat isnt OP, the devs data capture however says it is. While I was initialy undecieded and had no problem with the streak cat myself, given that people I have played with who have spoke out against the streak cat are streak cat pilots themselves I am left with no other conclusion to draw than that the streak cat is infact an OP build.

Different builds have varying niches. The AC/20 Cat is superior against heavier targets, SSRM Cat is superior against lighter targets.
Haven't run into a SSRM Cat that could take out my K-1 in an even fight.

The SSRM-Cat is not superior agasint lighter targerts, lighter targets can turn and run, often doing so before the SSRM-Cat can get lock. This concept that "nerf the SSRM-Cat" is coming from light pilots is pure BS. I'm a light pilot an the only time I ever engage a SSRM-Cat in a light is when I want to turn him round to get my buddy to shoot him in the back. The primary victim of the SSRM-Cat is anything slower than an SSRM-Cat.... namely, anything but a light.
And... your K2 is still using an exploit, your AC20 is 1/8th the size of any other torso mounted AC20, it only works because it is an exploit based on the faulty development design of that particualr mech. If your AC20 took up the same amount of front profile space as an Atlas or Hunchback, the SSRM would anhialte your AC20 before your second shot.

How is it an exploit, PGI gave the K-1 enough critical space to mount them. Eaither PGI make a mistake or they didn't.
If PGI made a mistake, they should say something. I mean it's only been that way since closed Beta....

Anything that is not a cannon build will get called an exploit.

I thought I was quite clear on why I thought it was an exploit, I have no idea what a canon build is and if you check my previous posts on this matter you would see that I in no way want to limit the ability of the K2 to fit an AC20, I just think its front profile should match that of other mechs that also mount an AC20 if it is doing so.

Well that's for PGI to decide.

Yes, obviously. But even they don't get to put words in my mouth.
