WHAT!?!?!?! You have the audacity to make this forum post?! I have dropped with you and what was the VERY first thing you did? You TK'd ME! If there was anyone else in the drop with me please back me up on this.
I was definately being fired at before I acted. Purely Self Defense.Same to the post above yours. I don't shoot unless someone is shooting me. Repeatedly. (I know some folks make this mistake of shooting once after the loading screen)

I watched the whole thing, you fired first, the commando did nothing but stand there.

100% DID NOT HAPPEN THAT WAY! I'm sure if ANYONE went through the server log for a River City drop around 8-9 p.m. EST on 26NOV12 they would see this.

The one time I have ever team killed I was in my founder atlas (testing a energy build) we load in to coastic. I start going about 30sec in to the game I get alphaed in the back by the other atlas there. I turn shoot a PPC in his leg as a thank you. (mind you I was run a 50/50 front to back armor.) I turn back around travel for about 15 sec his unload a 2nd alpha in my back clearing out all my rear armor now. So I pop with 1 PPC shoot in his other le g and type watch the friend fire). Turn to goto the front line. I get third alpha in my back taking my ct internal to dark red. This time I turn around and core his atlas though the ct with ER PPC only. About that time an enemy light came up and finished me off with a SRM6.

Man it would be intense if they had enough people to monitor matches with reported team killers and watch in and have a sort of override switch to shut down their mech. Of course they would have to dress like judges from Judge Dredd when they go into work.

I've experience the Ptom-Effect as well.

I almost admire him for the sheer ballsiness of TK'ing and then posting about how he hates TK'ers. Maybe he has multiple personalities.

I still love it when someone turns to face me then alphas my poor mech in the face and try to claim it was a "missfire" after doing the same thing to others in the same match. I haven't though noticed a rise in TK'ing as of late myself although I have noticed people doing it with bigger mechs.

between the normal **** licks a f2p game attracts as it is and the sudden influx of people that tk when you don't follow the plan very clearly outlined in someones head this is becoming a problem fast.

You have to stop and ask yourself WHY are people TKing much more than they used to? Obviously they must be p***ed off by something.

I have a guess. I'll bet that the Tk'er recognized someone on their team who they previously fought against and got hosed by (and I'll further guess that the person they are targeting killed them with a Streak cat). So they were probably getting them back for the cheesy death.

Now that is NOT justified in any way (though I can understand it).

All I'm saying is ... once MWO is a bit more balanced I'd be willing to bet the TKing goes down significantly after that.

I personally haven't seen any TKing going on ... but I bet it is just a matter of time before I witness it too.

ive tked a dozen or so people in the last 800 games, mostly its an accident.

but some people just need to die for what they have done.

but ive never lost a game where i TKed someone, its odd how that works.

These players will get bored TK-ing, so that's one thing. Otherwise, if you do X damage to a mech in 10 seconds, and then X damage to the same player within 2 minutes, you get booted. Occasionally someone with bad aim will get booted, but you probably get dc'd more often.

I was there. Timer hit 0, Ptom killed the commando, I called him out for it, then he fired on and killed a medium or heavy(cat maybe?). Then I called him out again, and started shooting at ptom. He went into the creek, and started to fire at a catapult, then I killed him. I got a tk penalty for it, and I dont care. Ptom is now on my instakill list, tk penalty be damned. BTW I went on to kill 3 enemy mechs that round, we almost won IIRC.

Problem with that is that as a free game, there's nothing stopping me from making 100 accounts and alpha striking my teammates in the back with the trial atlas all day. Plus it penalizes actual accidental TKing even further - these things happen, I've even unintentionally TK'ed with streaks before. We'll probably just have to live with it.

As infrequently as accidental TKing happens (I've only seen one incident in all the time I have been playing) I'd be fine with a friendly kill removing all rewards for the offender. If he is in a trial mech he gets nothing for it and in a purchased mech he would loose money. That would be fine by me. I occasionally damage friendly mechs, but have never killed one. It's not that hard to avoid.

On another note I have seen far more suicides than TK's. Every 5th match or so someone just starts overheating and explodes.

he didnt claim he wasnt the TK'er in those 1/3 matches to be fair :D

people probably TK since its easy, F2P account + trial atlas = instant griefing. It doesnt matter if the account gets banned, they can just make another one. Theres probably as many experienced players doing it as noobs, they just dont want to admit it.

Shall we all take a moment to reflect upon the forum's rules regarding Fingering people out and the general Code of Conduct?

This is all fine and good, except what do you do when a guy that has been witnessed to be a tk himself starts a thread like this. I simply affirmed and related what I saw happen in that particular match.

All well and good. However, judging from the posts on the forums, to many players it feels like this has become a serious issue since Open Beta that just is not getting taken care of. It's very disheartening to see a repeat TK'er still playing the game, and eventually you can expect some lashing out when that occurs. Enforcing a Code of Conduct on the victims after we see the perpetrators still doing as they wish just adds insult to injury.

Just my 2-cents.
