So I just picked up a new power supply from newegg. With the rebates my shiny new Seasonic X850 came to $120. Not too bad I figured. Especially since my current 680 watt seemed a little weak for where I want to go with the machine and an eventual CPU upgrade. Anyways I searched google high and low for an answer to a question that is bugging me. If anyone else on the forums has this power supply and has an ATX full tower, did the 8 pin CPU power cable reach the top of the case? My current PSU barely makes it. By utilizing a careful route under the GPUs and around the CPU fan it fits. I'm sure if the new one doesn't, it won't be anything that an extender couldn't fix, but it sure would be nice to hide these cables behind the MB tray from day 1.

They like to under size cables, yes. They do make cable extenders, however. .

My seasonic X650 had incredibly short cables. I ended up having to buy an extender kit, since even when running under the GPUs the cable wouldn't really make it without putting stress on the mobo. I'd go ahead and buy the extension cables.

I have a seasonic 750 that I've used for a couple years, been very happy with it. The CPU cable definitely doesn't reach to the top of the case. I've got a giant *** Cosmos case though and I've never had a problem with the cable length...
