I've lost count of how many times I've dropped and someone deliberately overheats and destroys their mech. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of it. These people are just plain evil, in my opinion. They're lazy and don't give a **** that they are ruining the game for others. So. Do you think it's fair to ban them? Please limit replies to the question and refrain about commenting on how the trial mechs suck or how the reward system is broken. There are plenty of threads about that already.

Suiciding isn't the only way to farm C-Bills. If you're playing at all, you're farming C-Bills. The answer is obviously no. You shouldn't ban all players just for playing the game.

I think it should be one warning, then a week ban, then a permaban.

And if the same user creates another acocunt then a IP ban is in order.

Unfortunately, IP banning doesn't work since some providers use dynamic IP addresses.

Banning a symptom will not address the illness. Moreover, they won't do it. Have you guys ever seriously read the ToS? Their punitive options are a joke. You could actively and publicly bot and the only thing that would happen to you is that you'd lose forum posting privileges.

Sweeping the problem under the rug with a ban wave, will at best be a publicity stunt. It won't make the game much better for free players and pubs. With that in mind, I am against it and in favor of measurably effective treatment methods.

My point is that I question your intelligence. But then trolls aren't noted for their brilliance. :P

Nobody will get banned for suicide farming, we have all seen the same guys which have been reported for farming for over a week now, and they are still going strong.

I question why you question it, but your second point, while irrelevant to me, is usually true.

This is what I am impatiently waiting for, with a full 8 man team there will be no suicide farming if both sides are premade groups.

They might still do it... but it would be very illogical and counter productive to do so before actually fixing the economy itself first. As I've said many times, they need to remove AFK rewards and reduce or remove payment from quick deaths in which you do little to no damage in a match. They shouldn't allow you to queue up with no weapons at all then still pay you for it.

1) Queuing up then not playing should result in nothing for the match.
2) Queuing up with 0 weapons and/or 0 armor should also result in nothing for the match.
^ Those 2 changes right there would literally cause probably 99% of AFKs/suiciders to quit doing it.

Just randomly remove a mech from a farmer and see how long they continue to WANT to farm.

Quote

We are addressing several known issues with farming.

Trial Mech Locking
  • Trial Mechs will now work the same as any BattleMech, they are locked until the match ends. This ends the ability for a macro player to "churn" matches to maximize CB.
Quitting/Disconnecting Early - While Still Alive
  • You will only receive rewards up to the point of disconnection.
  • NOTE: If you are dead, you will receive earned rewards, plus match rewards.
Idle/AFK
  • Players that fail to provide any input will be kicked from a match Although it does not prevent a macro player from simply putting in inputs, it forces them to LOOK like a bot.
Abusing this system is considered a violation of the TOS/COC.

Nothing more to say.
