2 questions.

What type of music (if any) do we think will be in MWO?

and

What music will you be jamming to, if not the in-game music?

Personally, I'll be listening to my Two Steps From Hell. ;)

non stop hardcore guitar riffs as unstopping loop!!!![/irony]

No music! The sound of the Battlefield and the screams of the wounded is all I need as music while I march to Battle

Awesome tunes like MWO's Trailer, and if not their tunes, MW2 tunes ;)

Already have my MW2 music playlist ready to go if I dislike the ingame music. WHICH if Paul is making it, makes my disliking of the music unlikely.

Back ground music is nice but tends to cover up the sound of your enemy seeking up behind you. If I was to have something running in the background I tend to Manowar or Rammstein, with tunes like March of Cambreadth, and the Warrior Song-Hard Core thrown in occasionally playing on the stereo.

I'm usually not a fan of in-game music, so I'll likely keep it off. However, whatever they do end up using, I'm sure will be appropriate.

As for me, it will be Vagner's Flight Of Valkyries and several other. I was surprised how different the game feels with this kind of soudtrack - it really adds some reasonable pathos:)
Try it if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed.

The only song MWO will ship with is Sisqo - Thong Song.

If there is music I hope its just in the mech lab, where I will be rocking out to Frank Klepacki's Hell March and other badass toons he has made.

Id like to see music akin to MW2 in the game. Especially music like Arkham Bridge. Linked here:

All menus/mechlab gotta have hardcore guitar rifts... while in game I want to hear what is going on, so maybe just something like what was posted from mechwarrior 2.

Since it's simulation im going with Zero in-game music. Login/Menu-screen/Matchmaking-screen/Mechlab music will probebly be the same rock/electronic/futuristic/military-themed/power-metalish/loop.

I'm really hoping some of what Paul has been doing is a preview of what we will get to enjoy. The man's trollfu is so strong that he can troll from a development video and I'm starting to think his music skills are right up there as well after what he has made so far.

Music is a must. Like Doug Masters in Iron Eagle, some of us cant pilot or kill w/out hearing "Some Lovin" blaring! or some other music. Yes, I just showed my age. I am a child of the 1980's what of it? hehe

As much as I love atmospheric in-game music, It doesn't usually work for multiplayer since the mood and the tone of the music might not be consistent with what you're doing. Whereas in single-player, you may be expected to be stealthy in this part of the game, or it's the lead up to the big confrontation so the music will be be appropriate to the tone. But I think it'd be great if there was some music at the start of a match, to maybe get you really pumped up, that fades away after a few minutes. Or when there's times where the tension is expected to be high, the music starts playing, like when it's the last couple of minutes before the end of the match, or when a base capture is being contested or something like that.

I miss Final Fantasy XI, it BY FAR had the BEST game music of all! I may not play that game any more, but, its music is a GOLD standard of what GAME music SHOULD be!
