As mentioned in the previous posts, not all patterns are available for all Mechs. See below.

The Commando, Hunchback, Dragon, and Awesome will not be able to enjoy the full benefits of Camo Spec until December 18th. The delay is largely due in part to converting the older textures to the new system. Each texture takes around 5 days to convert. The benefit, the new textures are way cooler.

So if you pilot a commando, hunchback, dragon, or awesome, you will have to wait until December 18th to apply the new camo specs. Only the Cataphract will be able to use the Phraken camo until December 18th.

Oddly enough I saw a Cataphract with the Prhaken camo (I think) this past weekend. At least I thought it was Phraken, was certainly not standard.

Good post, although I fully expect a lot of angry threads post-patch from Commando, Hunchback, Dragon, and Awesome pilots.

At least if they have the PC Gamer skin they can camo spec any mech! Obviously this still leaves some players with no camo spec options at all until the 18th, but hopefully the results will be worth the wait.

also if the 'default' skins are being difficult/stubborn to modify, why nto ditch them entirely for new skins? The Catapult and Atlas already had thier old default skin removed (apparantly permanently)

I only have a commando, huncback and awesome in my mechbay and I'm not really mad. A bit disappointed, but certainly not mad. I have the PC gamer skin anyway so Il live lol

Generally it's related to the UV pattern on the mechs, they may need to either reuv the actual models (a HUGE PITA believe me) in order to make the new camo system make sense, or they may need to add alpha levels that aren't there. I doin't know the exact details, but having worked on quite a few uv systems for models myself, believe you me, they are time consuming. It's no doubt related to something like this.

No kidding. I hate re-uvw-ing. Not technically hard, but the work is just so tedious. Looking at how most of the mechs have their uvw coordinated laid out, I'm not surprised it would take five days to fix them up. So many little tiles to get just slightly off center.

Cataphract is the one mech that can equip the phranken.

You can't use the PC Gamer skin on Ravens, Cicadas and Cataphracts though.

What I'd like is a skin that you can buy with CB. I can dream, right? At least there are some colours you can get with CB, and you can customise the PC Gamer skin - good times!

Edit: Can I just check, if you buy a camo pattern for a mech then buy another camo pattern, do you lose it entirely, so that you can't switch back without paying again? Bryan Ekman's posts say the patterns are 'erased' but don't mention whether or not you'll have to pay (with real money, I should add) to have them again.

I'm searching around in here trying to figure out the same thing. Like if you buy a color, is that color now always available? I would imagine at some point that people will have the ability to know what map they are dropping on and may want to camo appropriately. It would really suck if we were supposed to pay money each time we wanted to swap camo to fit the environment.

you guys do know you can change the colors on the pc gamer skin right it looks awesome on my awesome... just saying we still can do paint jobs on those mechs just not as much at other mechs!

Basic colors are priced in C-BILLs there are 5 of them (red,purple,blue, olive green, and navy blue) If you have the pc gamer skin it gives 3 more colors free of charge (blood red, dark grey, black)! Hope this helps!
So non paying users could have gotten 8 colors to choose from!

NO! Bring the old skins back, they were/are so much better than the current green skin.
