This Game Needs To Go Back To Elitist Mindset

The community is going soft. We need to restore what made Battletech good. The Eliteist mindset is sorely lacking in Pubs. If we went back to a more hardcore attitude the Pubs would improve quality of play. If we are given a chance to police the Pubs stop Suicide rushers,AFKers ect. This game would be better.

If this type of minset was not found in so many of the players back then, the tabletop game may have done better, it may have gotten a larger player base, which may have made previous PC mechwarrior titles more successful, which would have meant we would have seen a new MW title in under a decade.
I'm guessing your bunker is very lonely despite your very friendly and personable nature.

PUBs are the future of the game.
The will likely always be the majority of players.
A sizeable fraction of PUBs are members of teams going it on their own for a game for whatever reason. They are good players but aren't coordinated with teams because there's virtually no leadership for the PUBs in game--the most a PUB can usually hope for is a map icon, or a general direction--and often that doesn't even happen.
We really need VOIP in game. The Comstar server is often a ghost town, or a really really tiny part of the player base.

You realize this isn't your personal play-pen, right? As in, it's free-to-play, and they need a decent-sized player base to succeed? This game is already hard to pick up for newbies. Don't know if trolling or...

You now have a team of as many as you have paper for, and it's all you.

So rather than spend time killing your enemy and winning, your killing your team, then getting stomped because half your team has been TK'd? Amazing tactic there, id love to see it in action..

The way to remedy a low player count is:
1 - Make the game more accessible (this does not mean 'dumbed down', just easier to pick up). This means tutorials, matchmaking against other low-skill players, and other things like that.
2 - Make the game more casual friendly (like it or not, there are going to be fewer and fewer 'hardcore' gamers in the future). This means low cost or free. This means that it doesn't require a huge amount of time to be spent on it. This means that it can be picked up, played for a few minutes, and put down.
3 - Cultivate a friendly community. People aren't going to stick around a bunch @ssholes, it's as simple as that.
Like it or not, a game has to be constantly pulling in new players to be able to survive, let alone succeed in any sense of the word

Many of the hardcore BattleTech fans playing today started out having no knowledge beyond "big robots shoot each other" in MechWarrior 4.
That said, Phase 2 does need to hurry up. Phase 1 is burning folks out bad.

Like it or not. This game needs a true Elitist mindset in order to surive.
People who are against it are people who probably did not spend a dime on this game. I spend 200 dollars already.

I disagree. It needs a high level hardcore players to help drive and evolve the meta game and also need to appeal to the vast amount of pug players. Without those pug players your elitists would have no more game.
Also I have spent money and a game focuses solely on elites would die, very fast.

I give you a 4/10. Wanted to give only 2, but 1 bonus point for success and another for making me laugh.
