The Maskirovka is the infamous intelligence branch of the Capellan Confederation government. Like its equally ruthless counterpart in the Draconis Combine, the agency is involved in anything from internal security to espionage and sabotage on a galactic scale. Their presence is so pervasive that citizens in the Confederation are known to use the phrase, "The Maskirovka are always watching."

Following the organization's failure to prevent its infiltration by Davion agent Justin Allard just prior to the Fourth Succession War, the Maskirovka have spent the past decade trying to regain their prestige as a intelligence service to be feared.

I love it when economics intrudes into gameplay.

What happens if somebody decides to utterly hammer the industrial capacity of an opponent? Reduce his ability to build mechs down to zero?

Any house losing industrial capacity is going to have fewer chassis available, less money available, and at the same time, spare parts from outside are going to get more expensive and more scarce. Which makes parts at home even MORE expensive. If you can't build the parts to build mechs, those same parts are unavailable to repair mechs.

Like the Germans learned in WWII, sometimes you just flat cannot get Panzer parts if all the panzer part factories were bombed. Or if the Ammunition factories are bombed.

Or the supply lines are cut.

So what does Ceres Metals make, and what infrastructure was destroyed in the raid? Enquiring minds want to know!

I don't think Maskirovka would destroy one of our only 2-3 facilities.
