Rear-firing Weapons?

Since the Devs' board is locked down, I don't know where else to ask.

While putting together the spec pages on IGN for various mech models, I remembered some weapons were designed to fire in the rear arc (example - www.ign.com/wikis/mechwarrior-online/AS7-D_Atlas)

Most of the Mech-Sim games (chiefly MW1 and MW2 ... +Ghost Bear's Legacy and Mercs) flipped the rear-firing weapons forward, I assumed this would make the most sense (and less work) in terms of development.

Are rear-firing weapons present? If not, then that's cool. Thanks.

I think they've commented on this (might be mistaken) and I think it's flipped forward.

At this point there are no rear firing weapons. Weapons that may be in the rear may simply be moved forward.

If this changes I am sure it will be big news.
