i don't play much because of the lack of maps and mechs. you can max out a mech tree in a day, there's basically nothing to shoot for until they introduce new mechs or abilities or maps or game modes or SOMETHING

There was no real option for me to vote for.
I like the genre of the game and I remember playing a mechwarrior video game many many years ago (probably MW2) and really liked it. But never played the TT or read any books or anything like that. I was more unto heroes unlimited and ninja's and super spies.

What do you expect? People who make the effort to get into the closed beta will always tend to be those who are a fan of the franchise/genre.

Your poll did not offer the options of "I quite like the franchise", it was "don't care" or "love" and it didn't differentiate between fans of the original TT and/or the various games. I don't love the franchise but I voted the last option because the other options would have been wrong (as I like the general direction the game is going and most of the decisions so far)

I like how this thread, despite being rhetorically organized into a tantrum by the OP, contains a poll showing that (as of right now) 70% of voters like where the game is going. Puts to shame every thread where someone claims that everyone hates the game (but plays it anyway).

I never played any Mechwarrior before this, and I love this game because it's an awesome game and not because I have franchise attachment. Voted thusly.

Look, its a beta. This game is changing all the time. In 6 months every problem you are crying out your V is going to be irrelevant or non-existant or just something you will never like (ie the fact that LRMs and light mechs exist at all). You need to relax and let things develop. Time is a string of events that do not happen all at once. You need to let time work its magic on this game which happens to be in mid development (and probably should technically still be in closed beta).
