Someone in another thread noted that people sometimes seem to wander off all alone.
I have been one of these people. I just wanted to go look around the map, and I have no facility for doing this except in a game where other people rely on me. I also do not have the ability to fight with/against just my friends either (in an uncounted game would be fine).
IE, I would like to have an option to have games that are not necessarily COUNTED for or against (no cbills) that I can just use for wandering around and scoping out maps.
Right now, if you and your friends try to just scope a map out, they get everyone mad at them for wandering around and losing the match for them.
Also, I would love to see truly organized match play. I admit, I am a newbie at this game, and I have had ample opportunity to not be a newbie before this, and there are reasons I haven't played till now. But, now that I have started playing, I don't have the ability to try to pick apart the game without being punished either socially, or game wise for it (this may be intentional).
Also, is there going to be a clan vs clan mode added to the game? (for money) and such?

If you want to explore and yet seem like you have some measure of team spirit, drop in a Jenner and scout the map.
Just hit your 'R' key if you see a red team mech.
If you want organized tourney play join a competitive team. Find them on teamspeak. It will be happening again once we get 8 mech drops back. Or 12 mech drops. A tourney oriented team will organize training drops most nights. To get in a tourney you will want to practice quite a bit.

And for those that have bounced off MWO and never found your perl of wisdom?
Or those that getting to grips w/ the controls? Adjusting graphic options to balance performance and visuals? Test out a new mech that is not a fast scout? Or want to look at one part of a map for longer than 3 seconds?

I could definitely see the value in this for heat testing with new weapon loadouts.
