Clearly you should join the red team more often.

Same. I just rejoined MWO after having a blast in the closed beta and my God, I may as well go back to Guild Wars! It's a great game, love the economy, love the feeling of being in a mech and the cool accessories you can buy. But for crying out loud, premade vs PUG is

SUCH AN OLD PROBLEM!

How do the devs not have proper matchmaking implemented yet? I've just played 8 games tonight and lost all of them. Time and again a coordinated group flanked us, or rushed our base, or just had a far more balanced mech selection. My games were exactly like yours - 6-8 dead on my team and 1-2 dead on theirs. It's simply not fun plodding around in trial mechs because it's the only way you can actually make money :)

[edit]

I expect a few people will comment on your skill either jokingly or seriously, if they're being serious, might I point out that in a statistically average game where his team would only be down 1 player (assuming he is so bad he may as well afk), his team should have STILL PUT UP A BETTER FIGHT. The issue is clearly premades.

My evidence? Every MMO ever with battleground PvP. There's a reason those developers implemented match making.

im not saying its premades, i wouldnt know i dont always ask, and besides they dont answer anyhoo
but what i do know is, in my averages gamesi get 1 - 2 players afk / dissconect at the start on my team which doesnt help

then theres the issue of no coordination which is fair enuf its a pug team but it still impacts our performance

then theres the , everyone only seems to pilot streak cats or gausscats or what ever else is the going overpowered mechs at the time. i dont know im not some elite BT nerd that knows the most OP loadout.

im out there trying all different kinds of builds.

im also the player in my jenner that will gladly not even fire a weapon, but will keep target lock on that cat for as long as possible so that my team mates lrms will hit.

like Ricky said i enjoy the game, (to a point) but this lopsidedness is just wrong
world of tanks doesnt have this issue, why?

cos they seperate random games from organised games for starters, evens the playing field

plus they have 15 vs 15, having those extra players means 1 or 2 afkers doesnt hurt the team as much

anyhoo. just thought i'd post these up for the lols

hey do have other matches where i get 5 kills or top damage done , i dont suck im average
but even the best player in the game cant win a round by themselves

This is not an easy game for beginners. On the surface it seems simple, but experience is a huge factor. I'm not saying that experienced players don't get stomped, they do. I'm saying that you will learn to survive one sided conflicts and end up on the winning side more often.

The title is a bit misleading. I know I'm going to sound like a jackhole for pointing this out but, statistically, in order for someone to be an average player they would have a 1.0 K/D ratio or something reasonably close to 1.0. Meaning for every person they kill, they also get killed. I count 20 matches above with 3 total kills and 18 deaths. This makes your K/D for those 20 rounds 0.17.

First I looked that you suck at this game, then I saw you are from Australia? A bit cocky to call yourself "average player". Your 300 ping is far from average. I'm not surprised at all that you lose all your games when you can't even hit an immobile building with that ping.

yup and thats aboot right then the next week i suddenly for no reason get 2 or 3 kills every few rounds for a night and it evens it self out

but this is this weeks, mebbe i'll post next week or every day as i go

yeah panda the ping makes life difficult for gaming , but ive been playing multiplayer games for .well.... 2 decades now (mebbe more)

ive learnt to live with it and even work around it somewhat, sure its frustrting when the moving target is always moving and then the lag is always changing, plus i hate being a sheep and using the streakcats so i rather earn my kills with laswers, ballistics are usless for me in this game cos of the ping, andeverything else. ive always always been pretty good at gaming (no where near great but certainly not below average)

anyhoo i'll post more results next week

I agree Tempered, I've been a fan of Mechwarrior since Battletech 2 on the PC and I think I've played just about every Mech PC game since then excluding some of the Mech2 expansions. I love the Battletech Universe, I love the complexity of the Mech loadout mechanics and I really, truly wish I'd gotten in some tabletop games before they ******* vanished and everyone got into Magic the Gathering. This game is bewilderingly complex and that's a great thing, but please for the love of God, they need to sort groups from randoms because the matches are just comically unfair.

Even if he AFK'd which is about the most disastrous thing he could do short of shooting his team-mates, they should still have done better than they did.

And how long did it took WoT to get there? Years.

Plus your team is pretty f'd if the afk guys are your arty.

Dude, if I had a ping of more than 100–I would not even bother to play this game. You are probably an average player, but your ping makes it impossible for you to do anything on the field. Try using a streakcat.

I'm thinking that the matchmaker might not be very optimized. I was in a 4-man premade tonight and at the beginning of every match, we asked our teammates if they were in a group. It seemed that in at least half of our matches, we were paired with another team. I'm suspecting that the matchmaker first fills one side with teams, then fills the other side with pugs if it can't find any teams to match the first side's weight classes. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's just a theory.

ppl play this and many games with pc's that can barely run it, i call that more of a rinderance than a 300ms ping

oh and no i'll never be a sheep and use a streakcat cos everyone else is, thers too many of them on the field as it is

i like my 2x large laser and 3 medium laserd cicada my self

Us Europeans have to deal with average pings of 120, I do alright in my fatlas brawler. Gets a little hairy a times but I hold my own.
