You should absolutely stay calm and not expect any "thread" whatsoever. Especially not the nice lads of the Draconis Combine. Nothing is coming at you, I swear!

Hmm...well, I've heard rumors that some Mercs. out in the Periphery have taken to dosing up on intoxicants most of us civilized MechWarriors (in the core of the Inner Sphere, I must point out) know to be hallucinatory and highly illegal, at least to those of us in the Federated Commonwealth. I'm not so sure about those Capellans though, some of their decisions are highly bizzare...and they were founded by a terrorist cult leader. No surprise there...
This is probably based off reports of intoxicated pilots, like the claim I heard of custom hybrid mechs out there. Something that looked like a Marauder, with a Catapult's missile pods. Ridiculous. Everyone knows mechs can't have four arms, and even if they are built-in, do you expect me, and the rest of us self-respecting pilots, to believe that Periphery scum are intelligent enough for this upgrade? Solaris fighters, sure.
Oh, and to you Liao scum? You can have your Ravens back, I've been using them as training targets for new recruits. They may return with holes punched in them from ACs, however. And burn scars. And in most cases, no core. Oh well, you can work with that!

Seriously...Kerensky's return? You have some idea of what's out there in the wilds...and as bad as that is, what you DON'T know is scarier. Kerensky took his army headlong out there into the depths of nowhere as far away from civillization as you can imagine, and IF by some miracle they survived, surely they'd have been back by now. Face it, they got lost in space and aren't coming back.
Some talk of an alien invasion. Really? Yeah, right...little green men in battlemechs...

"Look, I'm just gonna have to be blunt on this one... I know that we've never really gotten along with you blokes over at the ISN. Even if we weren't competing news sources, our differences just run too deep for that. But, just this once, I'm going to have to admit that we down here at the TMA agree with you completely.
It's quite simple: All you loonies hoping for something big to just come along and set the status quo all a-quiver... Hoping for some alien invasion, or that there's some grand conspiracy behind all the strife we see on a daily basis... You're just fooling yourselves. I'm fairly certain that if there was something new out there, we would know about it by now. Maybe there's some aliens in the next great disc over, but that's a long way away yet, so for the meanwhile let's just ground ourselves within reason, yeah?
I'll admit, the Periphery is a big place. Very big. Damn big, if you will. And besides how big it is, there's also a much lower density of people than in most (if not all ) of the Inner Sphere. There's plenty of area for things to happen where no one is around to gawk at, so of course stories coming from the Edge are going to get muddled in their telling. Especially up there in the Rift and Drift, above the Combine. Why? Because it's damn hard to tell what actually happened, even if you do hear about something, that's why. Did anyone actually stop to think that, for the area, these things all might just be... normal? Pirates slow their attacks... Yet they haven't stopped, just slowed. Oh, so mysterious... Maybe we just haven't gotten news of their attacks, is that a possibility, do you think? And a missing jumpship! I thought you just said that pirate attacks have slowed, so why are you surprised when they attack something?
Look, in our quest to understand the mercenaries who are our audience, we have come to know the Edge pretty well. Hell, our main office is located on a planet that is technically a part of the Periphery, down near the Magistracy of Canopus! So here's the deal: Yes, the Periphery is a strange place. But all these reports of things being weirder than normal...? Complete nonsense. If you can't deal with that, it's your own bloody fault.
For once, we're with you on something, ISN. If something odd does start happening out here in the Periphery, we'll be first to let you all know. But just keep in mind that anything weirder than weird is still just... weird.
Until next time Travelers,

At least until they bring out the Fire Moths. Then it won't be funny any more.

I'd field a Ice Ferret D, it goes 129 km/h, has nearly max armor and 4 medium pulse lasers along with a AMS.
In TT it can easily keep firing those lasers, in MWO it should be a bit borked because of how heat works, though I could always install ER Medium lasers and extra heatsinks.

It has to be aliens. We have all heard the rumors about those strange 'birds' in the CC. Most people just think it's some sort of surreal prank, but i have seen them in battle. These ARE aliens. They have infiltrated House Liao and are spying on us all!!
Why won't people accept the truth?!? Why do they still believe ComStar and their ISN minions?!?!! The proof is right before your eyes. The Xenos are at our borders, and the Great Houses do nothing. They won't accept the facts until the alien warships have crushed their armies and nuked their planets. We should be building our fortifications, constructing WarShips and the like. But instead we keep spending money on pointless wars, weakening ourselves to make the Aliens' lives easier.
God help us all.

Let’s spell it all out together: P-E-R-I-P-H-E-R-Y.
I cannot say how often I heard all that. There is always something "strange" going on. It's called live! What do you expect?
I hate all these idiots going crazy because of the last of a few hundret conspiracy theories.
Seriously guys, what do you expect? Some Alien army coming out of nowhere, with technology better then everything we have, crushing the armies of the factions under their warrior boots?
The Human race has feared that since the dawn of space travel, more then 1000 years back and it has never happend! Why should it now?
Get back to your moms and don't spill your fear around here, crybabies. If you want to call yourself mechwarrior, then bang your head onto your mech to get a feeling of what is real and what not.
Now if you ask me, you should go get a contract. These rumors always are a good chance to get a mission with is overpaid. Good luck - and be fast, because I will!
