ci·ca·da

cicadas, plural

 • A large homopterous insect with long transparent wings, occurring chiefly in warm countries. The male cicada makes a loud shrill droning noise after dark by vibrating two membranes on its abdomen

Does the Cicada have arms? with all the weaponry in the torso instead of on arm-pods like the jenner, it would seem to be truly armless.

It does seem to have a pair of panels mounted on a joint, but nothing functional mounted to them.

Think of them as vestigial shield nubs.

That's funny. Usually the nubs are in the mech, not on it.

I think it's pretty widely believed that the medium lasers were supposed to go in the arms on the original designs, being flippable no less, but the force of history on that typo (or utter design incompetence) has left us with empty, but flippable arms as a legacy.

Good to see the ugliest, never played mechs in the 3025 TR makin it!!

Jenner.....Check
Cicada.....Check
Vulcan.....must be coming soon!!

PLEASE just redraw the Unseens so I can pilot a decent mech!

I would rather scrap a fully functional Cicada and sell the parts than pilot it!

Looks better then the one I had in Mw2Mercs. Have to see hardpoints to see if it is worthwhile. Would not have been my first choice, but no one is forcing me to buy it. More targets for me! I think it is pronounced "sick-atta"

I can picture that brilliant tactics will have to be executed to ensure victory - tactics would vary on different team composition and terrains. Cicada seems like a nice fit to flank opponents into a trap.

From the picture I am assuming this is the -3M upgrade?

2x Medium lasers
1x Ultra A/C 5
1x Small pulse laser

Your awfull snooty for a capellan. I have fought with against all those designs and they are all dangerous in the right situation or with a good pilot.

A nice heavy scout. And it seems to be the CDA-3M model.
So far, i prefer the Jenner over it. A scout needs jumpjets.

I would like to now more about its variants. Dropping the Ultra AC should give it quite some tonnage for more much needed armor or different weapons.

Ah, shouldn´t the AC be mounted in the right torso?

It has a couple of ways to be pronounced. I say "Si-kay-duh"

That aside, please don't mention MWLL here, that game while pretty to look at, is no step forward in the MW and BT world. It replicates the age old issues from all the previous MW titles, issues which the Devs have addressed and have implemented strategies to solve. Strategies which hopefully will succeed.

Good god, what the hell is going on in here :D

Since I've only been exposed to MechWarrior 3 and 4, I'm not familiar with the Cicada outside of the novels. Looking forward to seeing it on the battlefield!

Looks great, but isn't it just a bigger, weaker Jenner? We could have had other mediums with Jump, mini warhammer/jaeger with Blackjack. This of all the mechs released makes me scratch my head. Why would I pay more for it, when I can get the Jenner for less, it has jump, more armor and more weapons. Just saying

Don't think of it as a bigger Jenner with less payload. Think of it as a Locust with no copyright issues & a cripplingly heavy engine. The variants have widely-differing hardpoint layouts, so we can downgrade the engine & mech-lab it to mimic other popular mechs. But I'm still wondering how to explain that I like the redesign but it's incredibly ugly. :P
