If it is a -3M: Red eye on CT is small pulse, eyes on R L torso are Med Lasers, and 3-barrels on LT is UAC/5

It certainly looks like a -3M, since the weapon looks a lot more like 3 barrelled autocannon than a medium laser.

To add: Love the Cicada, and love the art for it.

Looks great, but isn't it just a bigger, weaker Jenner? We could have had other mediums with Jump, mini warhammer/jaeger with Blackjack. This of all the mechs released makes me scratch my head. Why would I pay more for it, when I can get the Jenner for less, it has jump, more armor and more weapons. Just saying

Wow.

Made.
My.
Day.

Surprising on three counts: unexpected 'mech drop, unexpected design, and it's gorgeous to boot (Seriously, FD, you're a master. Before now this thing was always drop dead fugly.)

Damn you, brilliant folks at PGI, for forcing my hand and making me drive a medium.

I pronounce it: "Annoyingly-loud-and-obnoxious-pest"...

Never fails... I settle in for a nice shady summer-time hammock nap and the fricking insect alarm from hell decides to rain on my nappy-time parade! :(

Ah good my second favorite medium made it. I used to love running down lights with pulse lasers then turn my arms behind and take pot shots while booking it at high speeds.

I just might ride this one while singing the trololollo song.

This was my question too, I see all the lasers there, but then there is that 3 barrled looking thing. Would they change the traditional load out of 2 med lasers and 1 small, and then add another weapon?

Interesting note from Sarna:

Notes

Though most of the artwork shows that the medium lasers are mounted in the Cicada's arms, according to the official record sheets and TRO: 3039 they are installed in the torso sides. It is unclear if this is intentional or an error that never was fixed.[1]

So how did you guys setup the mounts?

Nooooo!!!! Why the Cicada?
(Thinks about it for a second)
Okay, maybe I can see the tactical side of that mech. At least it's better then the Assassin, with just a medium laser, LRM5, and SRM 2. I guess that having another fast paced Insect-like mech on the battlefield will not make things boring on the battlefield. We do have alot of humanoid mechs.

From sarna ~

CDA-3M - The -3M upgrade of this older BattleMech uses some of the newest technology available in 3050. The engine has been upgraded to an extralight engine and the extra space has been used to upgrade the Small Laser to a Small Pulse Laser and also to add an Ultra Autocannon/5, as well as CASE to protect the 'Mech in the case of an ammunition explosion. BV (1.0) = 664, BV (2.0) = 812 [3

The only thing the Jenner really has going for it is that it has jump jets. Te Cicada does have a bit few less weapons but that's not always a bad thing if you have the right weapons. Also... The Cicada does have more armor if memory serves me right. And the Cicada manages its heat better than the Jenner which is really light on the heat sinks. So while the Jenner can jump, it's more prown to overheating than the Cicada. Also... The Cicada can mount a PPC. I don't know if the Jenner can? Plus having more speed for the Civada at 129 km/h over the jenner's 118 km/h make the Cicada a great medium mech to become a light mech hunter lol
