Besides any long time Battletech player would veiw the Starleague Mechs as classic and Iconic.

Meh. Not necessarily. I've played since the original box, and the Star League designs never really did much for me, or honestly anyone in our group. We pretty much ignored 2750 as a side timeline, and when they brought so many of those designs in to replace the lost classics they just became poor replacements. I'll never forget the disconnect my brain experienced looking through a newer reprint of the TR:3025, seeing the classic line art alternating with the rather poor replacement art.

I'll take the remaining core 3025 designs over the poor 2750 replacements any day.

I don't know, since we're in 3050 when the game launches and there's a decent bit of tech we've recovered, there is some really nasty Star League era 'mechs that could be good picks. Stuff like the Guillotine, for example.

Since we know the gauss rifle is in, then Highlander for assault and either BK or Orion for heavy!

I would like an Orion but I think it will be a Black Knight. We need something on the heavy end of the scale to balance out the current heavy choices.

Oh yeah... I would like a Zeus or a Highlander but I think we will get a Stalker.

glad to see everyone else loves the orion. definately hope for kerensky's favourite to be around.

even if it was a kind of ''cash shop'' thing, for some 'mechs i wouldn't mind. the devs gotta eat, after all. just as long as the 'mechs aren't overwhelmingly better.

Here's me being hopeful.

Medium: Dervish.
Heavy: Ostsol.
Assault: Stalker.

I have weird tastes, but these are generally available mechs if I'm not mistaken.

The Grasshopper is my all time favorite mech. If that is the next, I am ready to rock!

The Orion is as heavy as you can get without it being an Assault 'mech. It's also got the thickest armor (on it's base variant) then anything else in the weight class.

Black Knight wouldn't be horrible, but I see the Orion as being a lot more versatile of a machine.

Well cept for the fact that it's got like three different types of ammo to cook off and that limits it's staying power in longer engagements...

Still I like the Orion too, but I'd like the Black Knight as it's also a command mech. Something we're seriously lacking.

True, but case is available in this time period, and it's updated star league tech variant has a Gauss Rifle as well. It doesn't overheat like the Knight can risk easily, it's a more stable machine and can last a lot longer...which is needed in some fights especially if it's chosen as a command 'mech.

Nothing lasts as long as energy weapons. The Orion can be made tough, don't get me wrong, it's just I've yet to see a real 'command' mech, and we very much need some. The Black Knight is designed around the role, as is the Cyclops, that's why I'd like to see them.

I want the Stalker, with NOT STUPID LEGS and an actually central center of gravity. Also, the cockpit should be like a TIE Fighters.

Aleksandr Kerensky chose the Orion as his command 'mech. The Orion is oft used as one, and just like the Knight, it's a good candidate for the job. And energy weapons means you've got to control heat more, and it's not as big a deal since it's more about how good the team is doing versus a one on one fight and running out of ammo. Most matches I've been doing in table top of Mech4 hardly ever sees my Orion out of ammo unless a weapon gets destroyed.

I just like the Orion better then the Knight, and kinda want to see what FD can do with it's look. (Though, I kinda want to see a FD Knight too, lol.)
