A lot of us in my clan got together yesterday to discuss the new skins and how we can field uniform colors and everything that goes along with that. (details on this particular part are not really important for the feedback).

The one thing that was consistent throughout was no one liked the way skins were being monetized/implemented. It doesn't allow for constant change in skin patterns without flushing money down the toilet. So far everything we can buy with MC in this game with the exception of boosts is owned. It doesn't expire or have a duration, its owned. This is a great incentive to buy because it gives the customer confidence to spend their money.

This isn't a complaint on the prices but rather what it buys you.

Here's an interesting concept from another game. The full 5 dollar price buys the camo pattern. It's yours, you can swap it out and put it on again. You can also buy the same camo for just 50 cents. BUT you cannot swap it out. If you remove it, you lose it. This is a great system for this game but even better for MWO due to the nature of the game and how the camo is made (multi color customization).

(never mind the price points)You can charge a small fee for camo patterns that if altered or removed have to be repaid. You can also pay full price for the camo pattern for that mech to be saved. You can charge a small alteration fee if they want to change it or make them buy a whole new one.

Currently you are limited to a single paint scheme per mech. You're making money off of them and mostly from those who change constantly. But you can encourage those who want to spend more but not lose what they bought by allowing them to keep previous patterns. This no longer limits smart spenders to one skin per mech. And more money with better service means everyone wins.

Thanks for reading

Agreed. Pricing needs to make sense and be affordable. Have (relatively) larger price for a full-time permanent paint scheme saved and reusable on multiple mechs, for things like a clan uniform, then allow for cheaper paint jobs for the people who like to change frequently.

I also agree with pretty much everything geck0 was saying. As of right now, there don't seem to be many complaints about the price, but rather that a player is "renting" the paint scheme.

As an example, my clan has a color scheme that we want to use when dropping together. However, if I want to use a different color scheme on the same mech when dropping solo, or with friends outside the clan, I have to pay to switch.

As a result, this is a disincentive (for me anyway) to spend MC as I don't feel like I am getting any value out of the MC spent. I would be more inclined to spend MC on camo schemes if I could keep the scheme when I switch it out for another one.

Thank you for reading.

I like Lonrem's idea of charging a one-time MC fee to create our own custom skin which can be moved and applied to any 'Mech, similar to how the PC Gamer skin works.

I would not mind if we were charged for the colors used in the skin either, on top of the skin creation fee. But it would be nice to be able to reuse a color scheme without having to pay multiple times.

I agree. I would gladly pay slightly more MC (on a one time basis per mech/scheme or just per scheme) to retain my color schemes for a mech or multiple mechs, honestly.

I am all for Geek0's idea and going with something similar to Planet-sides skin pricing and customization, would increase revenue and still give the masses the sense of their money being worth what it is being spent on.

I say Charge me MC once for each colour and pattern to unlock them then charge me C-Bills to change them. I would dump a TON of MC unlocking all the colours and patterns I wanted and then the camo system acts as a C-Bill sink so I want to buy premium time to afford constantly repainting my mech. As it is I have been humming and hawing over the camos and colours since they came out but am hesitant to pick any so haven't spent anything yet

I have no problem with paying extra for something that is perm. I will ultimately still pay for something that is temp(like it is now in a sense) but I am less willing to pay again knowing what I have will be lost.

I would like to see something along the lines of two different catigories of skins/paints. Perm and Temp.

Perm: You buy the paint and skin that you want for more MC than a temp job. This gets placed into the Perm category and is placed where the PCGamer Skin is. You could even add something for the player to name it them selves.

Temp: Pretty much the way it is now. This in a way is kind of like a rent a car or test drive. Have them pay for it the way it is. If they don't like it, yes they have to pay for something they do like.

PGI could also add a Temp to Perm option where the player purchases a temp paint job for X mc. If they like it they can pay the diffrence of the perm cost. At that point it would go into the perm category where the player can now name it.

I agree with Geck0. I'm more than happy to throw down money, but I'd like to be able to keep what I pay for.

I for one would purchase patterns and colors for different environments for my mechs as well as my clan colors if I knew I could keep them and go back and forth. I would even support a permanent color purchase system. Buy the color, use the color where you want when you want, or even per mech color permanency. Signed.

Value is a consideration we take whenever making a purchase. The customization of your mech is a fantastic aspect of this game, and the flexibility to switch back and fourth within your investment without being penalized would make a purchase more appealing. To me any way.

My issue is that i cant apply it to my founders Mechs.... Means if i want to use my C1 i either have no paint or i have to buy a C1..... If i buy a C1 then i have no bonus.....

This makes owning a founders mech while being in a Clan/Guild a problem and not a benefit.

Just let me fully paint my mech no matter what.

Very Annoying...

I would pay to be able to change more than just the stripe(a stripe you cant even see) on my founders mech.
