Who we are in Mechwarrior Online
The Silver Hawk Irregulars are a moderate RP and casual Battlemech unit with a solid core of driven and competitive members built around the simple truth that sometimes real life intrudes upon game time. RP is fun and we stick to the lore where possible but comms chatter is pretty loose when not actively in a battle.
We are currently holding hardcore competitive 8 man drops on Wednesdays at 9pm EST with regular training drops and community events twice a week at 9pm EST every Friday. Participation is encouraged but not required for Friday events with promotions and honors rewarded to regular members who can make the scheduled competitive Wednesday drops.

We are allies of the Marik Gunfighter Alliance and call www.house-marik.net our home. Our own website is currently in the works and use the House Marik teamspeak. Even if you can't make a schedualed event there is almost always someone online you can drop with.

Emblem and Color Scheme
The Silver Hawk Irregulars do not have a set color scheme. Each individual member usually paints their equipment in the same style as whatever unit they were a part of prior to their assignment to the Silver Hawks.

The Current Emblem emblazoned on every Silver Hawk Battlemech, and the only unifying decoration that all units have in common.

Recruitment Requirements
Our only real requirements are dedication, willingness to experiment and learn from your mistakes, and to have a sense of humor.
Those who are interested should contact me, Anthony Gryphon or Greyrook and sign up for the forums at www.house-marik.net which also contains the teamspeak information. Just mention on the application that you are looking to join the Silver Hawk Irregulars as this is a collective website which caters to everyone who is a part of the FWLM.

Who we are in the Battletech Universe
Taken from the House Marik field manual
"An outgrowth of the Concordat of Danais, a mutual defense pact signed by five different League provinces in 2966 in protest of the Captain-General's plans for war, the Silver Hawk Irregulars constitute the mutual peacekeeping forces of the Silver Hawk Coalition. The disparate compositions of the Silver Hawk regiments reflects the wide variety of cultures in the Coalition's five member states which comprise a total of ten different worlds.
Each Silver Hawk world supplies a specific number of troops, usually in lance of company sized contingents. Consequently the quality of the Silver Hawk units varies enormously.
The planets of Kalidasa and New Hope view their contributions to the force as their duty to the Coalition and to the Free Worlds League, and they provide the best trained and best equipped personnel. In contrast, Shiloh's troops represent the dregs of that world's society- individuals who have joined the military simply as a means of escaping poverty, prison, or a number of other fates. Furthermore, the beaurocratic planetary government of Shiloh seems preoccupied with reducing it's expenditures as much as possible, and so it provides the poorest equipment and virtually no maintenance funds to the Shilohan Silver Hawk troops."
The Silver Hawk Irregulars are notorious for repeatedly being subject to the Home Defense Act during times of war but can now be required to fight on the front lines due to the Addendum to the Military Reorganization act.
The Silver Hawk Coalition lost the planets Callison and Marcus to the Lyran Commonwealth while the Irregulars were away on the front lines during the 4th Succession war and they are sporting for a rematch to retake their former homeworlds.
As irregulars the Silver Hawks are known for fighting using unorthadox methods of battle, and are sometimes accused of being rowdy and chaotic, but as the Lyran Commonwealth learned during the Silver Hawk Irregular's raids into the Isle of Skye in 3039 (an almost single handed effort to keep the Lyrans busy while the rest of the League dealt with the Andurion Crisis), chaotic doen't mean innefective as the disruption is attributed to be one of the causes for the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth pulling out of the offensive again the Draconis Combine.

Anthony,

Just wanted to drop in and applaud your great post here. But, more importantly, I wanted to openly applaud the skill of your Irregulars when we dropped against you guys the other night.

Your unit was tactically sound and were very skillful in the way you adjusted your firepower to each situation.

I am happy you guys are on Marik's side!

Wishing you the best in your recruitment drive. You fellas are a quality bunch!

Last night, the Silverhawks engaged in their first full 8-man drops in the new "Premade" queue.

We won 5 of 7.

The night before that, I had lost like 10 in a row with a more random group.

I just have to say, it was awesome to witness us come together like that and not just perform well, but win, handily, against some other great units.

Every match was a battle hard fought and victory was neither simple nor assured. We took our losses and had our calamities (I died to Machine Guns? Really?) but all in all it was wonderful to see the team we have been building take to the field and prove ourselves worthy.

Expecta Cladis

Indeed, it was stunning to watch the Irregulars come together as a unit so naturally.
Our only two losses were against well known units who fought with honor and often praised us afterwards.

Expecta Cladis, Irregulars.

Well, one of our losses.

The other was against VOTF and they had a Centurion. With Machine Guns. oO

The Irregulars continue to grow, many new members have joined our ranks and our competative 8-man team is starting to really shine.

Wayward Nobleman of House Marik,

The fracture of House Marik is an unfortunate event and how so many great Nobleman can go wayward is very disturbing. We are hear to inform you that help is on the way.

As we speak our Dropships are at full burn toward the planet Tamarind. Our employers have decided that this planet will be the first of many, that will experience their "re-education" process. Please do not resist this process. Doing so will be a grave error on your part and result in unnecessary loss of life, your life. We urge you to stand down and lay down arms. Having even one mech powered up on the battlefield is considered an act of aggression. Make no mistake, though we are a Mercenary unit, do not confuse us with the lack luster "pubbies" of the Inner Sphere. Our background's are plenty, our teeth are sharp and our mission is clear.

This prioritized HPG transmission is to coordinate a time to have our mechs meet on the battlefield and give you the opprotunity to surrender. Succumbing to the 25th Marik Militia's "re-education" process is not dishonorable. No one could blame you for refinding the true path of House Marik.
I will suggest meeting on the battlefield 9pm EST on 2/13/2013 (or 2/13/3050 in game date) or 9pm EST on 2/14/2013 (or 2/14/3050 in game date) or 9pm EST on 2/15/2013 (or 2/15/3050 in game date). We apologize for the hastness of the battle but our employer is eager to get this "process" on the way.

Also to note...........

We also have our Battalion stationed on Shiro III. They have informed me of your incoming ships. I will advise turning them around and surrender with your other units. We will need to schedule this time on the battlefield in order to do this. Again, I cannot stress how futile it is to attempt to take this planet.

PS

This HPG transmission was sent to your commander, please comply. We will only except a responding HPG transmission in kind (yes, that means email).

The Marik Gunfighter Alliance is surprised by this unprovoked and seemingly random attack upon our neighbors from the Silver Hawks. The 25th Marik Militia is defending a district in good standing, we may not be able to stand idly by while such actions are taken. We urge Legion and the Silver Hawks to withdraw. I understand communication is not instantaneous and your message to fall back may arrive after the battle, but we expect you to push no further.

Screen flickers on:

A very grizzled and weary looking Mechwarrior sits in his cockpit facing down at the camera on his dashboard.

"This is Force Commander Anthony Gryphon to all Silver Hawks in the district 5 region. We've just arrived back on Shiloh from our recon mission into district 1, only to find what looks like the Desert Rats assaulting the planet. This is an emergency priority alert to all Irregulars within district 5, the code is gamma. Repeat, the code is gamma."

The onboard computer suddenly pings and declares "New Enemy Detected". There is the sizzle of a PPC and a bright flash. Alarms sound in the cockpit and the screen flickers as Gryphon grabs his control sticks and begins the start up sequence on his battlemech.

"All systems: nominal"

End transmission

Hey, now, don't bunch the rest of the 'Hawks in with me, now.

Most of them know what they are doing. I think they just keep me around as their handicap for ELO.
