When Community Warfare is implemented, it will become more important to many of you who are looking to get more wins and the most out of the game.
Here are some pointers for those of you looking to join in regularly with a group to share a like-minded attitude, improve your tactics/gameplay, and just have some good' old fashioned laughs:
- It is essential to use Teamspeak. To get on the 3 servers, search "teamspeak" in the forum search menu above to find the info for login
- If you find players you like dropping with, you can mark them as a friend in Teamspeak, by right-clicking on their name. Their name will show up in green letters, making it easier to find them later.
- If interested in a more established group, ask around if there are any merc corps that they know of that are hiring and share a similar style of game play, tactics, personality fit, etc. as yourself
- When you find the TS dropship, ask to speak to the leader or recruiter for that merc corps/clan/guild. They will often give you background on what they want from a potential member and may even invite you to a private chat server to drop with their teammates.
- Be polite, courteous and thankful to the members... even if you don't agree with their views or style of play, you are still their guest, so behave like it
- Don't trash talk in game to the opponent or to lone wolves (PUGs), as it may reflect poorly on the established group and you will quickly get the boot.
- Demonstrate SKILL and TEAMWORK in your play as this is one of the main reasons why a group will take you on as a regular player
- If the group needs convincing as to your skills, you can even take a screenshot of your stats as evidence just in case you have a few bad matches or score lower than you normally would
Good luck with the game and finding a great group out there for you. If you come across my name in game, be sure to say hello!

For the most part this doesn't need said, but I'd like to add that it's best to show good sportsmanship and courtesy at all times – even in PUG matches where you're not trying to join a Corp actively – because many puggers are people in established units who are wanting to do one quick match before work.
People remember players' manners both good and bad, and the seemingly mundane "GL and HF!", o/ (salute), or compliment can go a long way. Especially if it's directed toward someone who just killed you when they showed skill or it was a good fight.

Is there a site that list all the active Units/Guilds for MWO?

There is a spread sheet hanging around. Most of the units posting in the first couple pages of Outreach are active.
Here's the google doc:
