I've been a fan of Mechwarrior since the first one and purchased all of them to date. However, I mostly played them for the single player campaign/stories and not so much the online aspects.

MWO is a departure from this and I quite enjoy the combat online. However, I do still miss having an interesting single player campaign/story.

I know that isn't the focus of this game and maybe it will never happen but hence this poll; I'd pay money for a decent in depth single player campaign i.e. with complete story, not just 3-4 random missions. Something like MW3 even.

Assuming it was maybe some kind of optional download/DLC?

Edit: just to clarify, this would be for a well made/proper single player storyline, not just the existing maps and some bots in training mode...

I would defiantly pay for single player campaign. I was hoping somebody would mention that. I love to pvp but do need to break it up. Say when the premades are running the day and cant get a decent group. Soloing would solve that problem. :D

I would not pay. My reason is because MWO was designed as multiplayer game and if they now decided to tack on single player, it would be poorly made and really bad experience (imagine missions being you vs couple of enemy bot mechs, they probably wouldn't even make new maps). I would only pay for well made single player with storyline and cinematics, that's not gonna happen with MWO.

word on the street is, money from founders was funneled to other projects already. and even if it wasn't, i'd rather a stable, functional, complete multiplayer (community warfare( first

Yeah that's kind of how I worded the poll. It would be for a proper/well made storyline campaign, not just a couple of random bot matches. Maybe not right now but eventually...

Don't want a singleplayer campaign. I want a Co Op campaign/mode. Why would you want to play this alone? Give us missions with 4 or 8 player lances vs invading Clanners.

I'd suggest that Campaign would be Single/Multiplayer in a sense that few players (Co-op) may join a campaign game (e.g raid mode) and its mission is to defeat a custom boss mech with high health / having several enemy mechs + turret guarding a supply depot.

Just an example of campaign scenario. It may vary.

Edit : Storyline Campaign would be most well appropriate IMO.

I don't see it happen. Ever.

But I'd be happy if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't pay for it.

the only reason i went with mwo is because it is the only game in town and i have been wanting a new mech game for years.....i would love to be able to have a nice long campaign that would stand up as a single player game. I have never been much on mmog's but this one i feel is one of the better ones out there.

There's Living Legends, a MW mod from Crysis Wars(20$). There's also Hawken, but one is basically a generic FPS with a Mech paint job.

Absolutely yes, conditional that the value is greater than almost anything currently available with MC. I mean, when an Atlas costs $20 and Clan heavies and assaults will cost 3 times that, I shudder to think what it will cost for a few hours of single player.
If it's reasonable it'll sell like hot-cakes.

I think those resources would be better spent on improving the multiplayer side of things and a single player part would actually be a completely different game project. I'm sure if MWO is successful that will eventually happen.

If not a campaign just a single player mode. This way I am not burdening a team with my test run configuration. To me this game (BattleTech) has always been about the player interaction. Playing this game as a deaf and dumb PUG was kinda boring. It didn't become fun till I got on Comms with some people and began interacting with them.

Not a dime more for PGI for any purpose if they put in this 3rd person garbage.
