Hiya

For some reason I am unable to see any sort of chat whilst "active" in game.

Sometimes even after I have died I cannot see what has been said without pressing to talk myself ..ie I press Y and all the team chats for the entire match appear for the first time.

Anyway I hope this is the place to report this..any questions or if you want me to test different things out please ask.

When I press the key to talk that's when the chat appears...

However, it is quite often the case that when I press a key to talk nothing happens.

When I do type something in it doesn't always come up.
As a note I haven't tried typing whilst I am alive so ill try that in a bit.

Sounds like a unique bug. The chat function works for most people.

Try and recreate the issue, take a screenshot or two, and submit what you found using the support email.

how do you make your typing appear to others? I can press Y/ T to get the chat box, then I can type, but when I press enter (I tried almost all possible key combinations), nothing happens?

Normally the chat is gone for everyone, until something new is typed or you press T/Y.
There might be a good chance that your eyes are busy on what is going on and that you miss the chat.
But since you can't type into chat it becomes very weird.

So you type something out like, "hello".
You don't see it, do you see it when you press y/t after you typed something?

i type "hello", then when I press "y", it will appear "helloy"

which key do you need to type to make your own chat show up on the screen or to the others? is it "enter" key?

In oprder to type something to someone else, you must press either Y or T. this will make the chat box come up so that you can type a message. If you have the keys as default, after typing what you want to say, just press "enter" and it will send the message. The only way to exit a chat box without sending a message is to make sure there is nothing written and also click "Enter"

The chat fades away after a few seconds.. I wish there was a way to keep it on, but I've not found it yet. But, if you want to see what chats are there if the screen is gone, just press Y or T and it should appear. Don't type anything, but remember to hit "Enter" to close the chat entry line (or your key strokes will go in there and not to driving your mech.. and eventually the world will see a chat from you that looks like wwwwwwwwwwwddaasssswwwwwwwwwwwddddddddddd )

And if you're typing when you die, the chat gets broken when you go into spectator mode. I've found that pressing Esc (twice, once to the exit option screen, once to get back to the match) sometimes fixes it.. or switching which mech you're spectating from can fix it.. but if you're typing in spectator mode and that mech dies while you're typing, chat breaks again. Fun stuff.

thanks guys for the advise, but I've tried again this am, still doesn't work.
I press Y, chat window pop out, I can type any thing, eg, i type "hello", then press enter, nothing happens. I can see other people's chat appear in the chat window and screen, but not mine. "hello" just stay in the typing line until the chat window faded away, and still nothing on the screening. I tried to use a different key board, same problem......
