My Team Could Not Cap

We fought a premaid that announced their faction name(Dev or Mod pm if you need their info). Snow Colony, we went on the lake. One of them asked for a dual. We all went anyway. We got on top of their cap before our base started being capped. No mechs were present, yet we could not cap.

I only say one of them briefly, an Awesome. My teammate said they went cave and so we knew we could cap first. I remember they made a joke about having all streakcats at the beginning of the match if that reminds any of the participants of this match.

This would be a bug. Happened to my team last night. Only one enemy was left. A lrm cat with no arms left. We all formed up around the base and nothing happened.

There was one DC on their side. Not sure what caused the bug, but last night was not the only time.

Ha, I was thinking it was them glitching us for not going with the honour duel. Thanks for clearing this up as a bug.

I think it was an exploit...we had same thing tonight with the same announcement from a known exploit group

There is a rare bug that causes one of your team to be listed as an "enemy" for the purposes of base capping. If that player stands on your team's base by himself then he willbe capturing the base for the other team. I assume that one of you had that bug and was preventing your team from capping.

And it may not be as "rare" as I think it is. The only way to know is for each player to step on a base solo to see what happens, and that is not really possible in each game.

I'm not so sure it's rare. I mean, it's happened in the past, but in the past two hours message traffic on this has increased significantly and it all revolves around the Goons. I think those sneaky gits have figured out how to replicate the bug. PGI will probably fix it quick, but I suspect we can expect to see more of this over the weekend.

Yes. Some of obviously found an exploit to "freeze" their base out to prevent capping.

I have run into this one too. No announced team involved, and by the time we got on cap after ruining half of their team it would have been a clear win for us.

Ho hum, thought is was just a new glith freon the patch...

This happened to our team last night as well. 7 men on the cap, 1 enemy light running for hills. No cap over a 4 minute period, we ended up with a loss somehow?

Had the same in River City Conquest today ... we were not able to cap the Point in upper city (kappa?).
Firstly there were 2 or 3 of teammates trying together. Later on I tried it allone. Both approaches failed. There was no enemy mech near the cap zone (nor was a shutdown jenner or so sitting on top of the installation). We had capped some other points before and after. Just that one didnt work.

You can also acomplish this with the invisible commando trick.

Step 1: get a commando to go over 100
Step 2: run at the oil rig in your base
Step 3: shutodnw while moving full speed decently close to the oil rig
Step 4: the mech magically phases into the rig, remain shut down, you are invisible to other players

you can sometimes shoot around the rig and still hit. If you get a red recticle keep shooting till he is dead.
