The Bushwacker. A truly iconic design that graced the lovely cover of Technical Readout 3058 (art inside was terrible though). A prototype version was being field tested by 3050 as seen in the cartoon series it was invented for. It was designed to have a small forward profile so in game it should have some of the same advantages as the K2, but in medium mech form. Can mount all three weapon types. Including the K2's perk of twin ballistic mounts in the side torsos where machine guns should be.

Aren't we all getting a little ahead of ourselves here?

Remember, a mech needs 3 canon variants to be advanceable. So, look for mechs with the triple.

Uziel
The perfect medium mech with the PPC pew pew.

Mauler

Third is a light/medium mech from mechwarrior 4
looks close to a shadow cat but more like a big disk of armor on top.

makes it look like a toad :)

I have ideas of what I am waiting for but people need to keep in mind just because a certain Mech (either clan or Inner sphere) perfoms and Handles great in past Mechwarrior Titles doesnt mean that PGI will implement that Handling or Performance in this game.

ie... A Shadowcat in this game could be implemented where its maneuverability is equal to Honey Boo Boo's Mom,yes this may be an oversimplification but it depends on where designers want it to be

I'll be among the mass crowds wanting the Madcat / Timberwolf. One 'Mech I'm not looking forward to (facing) is the Summoner / Thor. That thing killed me so much back in MechWarrior 2 and I will never forgive it :)

I don't think the three variants thing needs to be set in stone. PGI could easily get away with one or two variants by increasing the experience required. For example, Cool Running (I think) is 750 experience so for two variants it could be 1500 or for only one variant 2250 experience. It would suck and mean a LOT of effort for the player but if that's the price you have to pay for something that only has one variant I'd be willing to accept it.

I wouldn't mind:

Marauder (multi PPC action)
Axeman (melee axe? Hell yes!)
Hatchetman (melee FTW!)
Berzerker (even MORE melee fun!)
Battlemaster (Old school)
Warhammer (more old school)
Vindicator (House Liao specialty)
Rifleman (no arms... but all cannons)

In the announced mech category I'm looking forwards to the Trebuchet and Blackjack.
The Bushwacker and the Warhammer are the top two on my wish list overall.

Any of the Unseen mechs since they were the main-stay mechs of the IS. I still think not having them in game is a huge mistake even if they look a little different. I mean the new Jagermech looks like a Rifleman rip-off. Because if the Madcat shows up I guess the new name for them would be for IS warriors Coolcat, Tomcat, Bobcat, Wildcat, Bearcat, but no Madcat.
