Please Increase Mg Damage In The Next Patch.

Please just do this for the children. And people that like build diversity. So little actually changes in MWO. We've been stuck in the same weapons forever. Change something! LRMs and Streaks have seen more patch notes for one of them than any other weapon combined. Why so much attention when tiny changes such as making MGs "do damage" would be far more beneficial to the game?
Seriously. Get more weapons viable so we can enjoy some diversity. The streak/gauss/LRM/mediums has been the thing for ... ever. Lets say 2 DPS makes MGs OP (Dunno how but lets go with it) then that'll at least change things. I don't often advocate change just for change's sake, but right now we need change for change's sake.

Maybe they shouldn't have added an ANTI INFANTRY GUN if they weren't going to HAVE ANY INFANTRY.
If it's in game it should have a use, period.

this.
Dunno why people are being so stubborn. 2 DPS is actually it's TT value. You know most mechwarrior games actually had it do MORE damage than it's TT value right? We'de just be starting at the start-line, rather than in the pool behind it. 2 DPS is likely still not good enough, 3 or 4 DPS is the area it should be at. HOWEVER at 2 DPS it'd actually be tolerable.
and TT players need to stop being, for lack of a better word, complete ******** to everyone else. We get it, you play TT, you read a book. Congrats. If the MG is in the game it needs to be useful, or remove it from the game.

Also, for all of the people saying "it's an anti-infantry gun! It shouldn't do damage to mechs!"
Then why does it do exactly the same damage to mechs as an AC2 in TT?
It's an anti-mech weapon with a *bonus* against infantry.

that would mean a 4 ballistic-cicada with 4 Mg's and a LPL could do 10.25 DPS, almost as much as a 9ML hunchback but without heat issues.
yeaaaah....but no.

yeah how about you go build that mech and see how long you can keep that DPS up. See how long you can shoot until you run out of ammo. See how much ammo you need to sustain that. See how long before you overheat using a LPL with your 10 base heat sinks seeing as you'd need to have 5 tons of ammo to sustain that damage. Stop talking out of your *** too.
Also see how long you can keep on target with that damage, seeing as how you'd need to ahve them targeted 100% of the time, rather than the ~30% of an ML.
Or, in other words, stop humping the streak/gauss/mediums/LRM. Seriously. Stop it. They're all humped out.

I piloted a 4-MG cicada for some time (4 the LulZ) and i can say that staying on target for an extended period of time is fairly easy to achieve with such a fast and agile mech.

1 DPS and they'd still be useless. They require 100% aim time on your opponent, rather than having to aim maybe 5-30% of the time. Also you'd need tons and tons of ammo to sustain an MG as a main weapon. Go try MGs, seriously. I think people have forgotten how quickly they run out of ammo.

eventually new players will be allowed trial infantry equipment instead of trial mechs, as it has been decided trial mechs are much too powerful for the untrained

you can clearly see my founders tag, yet you call me an entitled free to player.
The only reasonable assumption I can make is that you are blind. Well, blind man, changing MG damage to be a reasonable 2 DPS would take maybe 5 minutes and make this game significantly more fun for many people.

.
Are they
a\ Heavy Machine Guns firing ultra dense full supper alloy jacketed armor piercing ammo
b\ Machine pistols firing 9mm dumdum ammo
c\ a full auto light cannon
d\ Standard Machine Guns firing armor piercing ammo
.
a\ range 270, strength 0.2, ammo 500 per ton
b\ range 90, strength 0.001, ammo 5000 per ton
c\ range 360, strength 0.5, ammo 250 per ton
d\ range 180, strength 0.05, ammo 2000 per ton
.
could someone set me straight or does it depend on what each faction/house prefers to use
.
I would like to see an upgrade like Arttamus upgrading standard to heavy machine guns with ultra dense ammo
.
