This is the most iconic mech in the series, why is it not in the game? Just doesn't quite feel like mechwarrior without it.

...sigh. Use forum search in the future.

Long story short? Clans aren't in yet. They want to make sure all the basic IS stuff is ingame first before introducing potentially unbalanced clantech. Just wait a few months. It's planned.

Game is following canon timeline, we're currently in 3050, Clan Invasion doesn't occur until early next year, Clan Mechs didn't appear in the Inner Sphere (where we are) until the Invasion.

And the game feels plenty like Mechwarrior, thank you very much- the game existed several years before the Clan mechs that noobies think are "all there is" were even thought up.

Rawr, Timeline!

To elaborate a bit more, PGI is following the mechwarrior universe timeline. Mechs are released in a chronological order within the universe. I do not know the exact dates but right now the Clans have not invaded he Inner Sphere (yet) so no Madcat or Clan weapons.

OP is asking why there is no P51 Mustang in a WW2 game set during the Battle of Britain, despite being an iconic WW2 fighter.

Edit: and we all came out of the woodwork to pounce on the poor guy. We should remember that most previous MechWarrior games were set after the Battle of Tukayyid, and the vast majority of people who played them will never have read the books or played TT.

To most MechWarrior players, the story starts around 3057 with the Refusal War.

There's this thing called History, IP likes to follow it to maintain the lore of the world. In said lore and history, the Madcat/Timberwolf has not yet been encountered and won't be until sometime next year.

Clans arent in game yet.

Its always funny to see what people consider 'the most iconic mech' in the series.

Unfortunately, we will never see most/any of the mechs that should hold that title....... in my opinion of course.

How is it not? It's on the cover of Mechwarrior 2 Mechwarrior 3 and Mechwarrior 3050 on the snes.

Tell me which Mech you think is the most iconic then?

Or maybe you started with MechWarrior 3?

It is not quite the most Iconic, Cause looks wise is is a Catapult/Marauder so those are more Iconic IYAM.

MadCat doesnt look nearly as good as the two seperate mechs that inspired its design.

For most iconic, most are going to have a LONG list from the olden days. Just pick your Fav from it. Prob one of the three 55 tonners though.

I say the Mackie would be the most iconic, but then, I'm old fashioned like that.
