I currently have a stable of 3 Catapults which are working on mastering soon and an awesome 8V but I since I have no premium or founder I could really use a cbill making mech.

My first thoughts were either a Jenner or Cicada. I have a XL315 engine from the cats to potentially put into the Cicada, but that would defeat a bit of the money making nature of the mech.

Please propose a variant as well as build that you have found useful for decent performance and good money making.

Thanks very much.

i personally love my jr7-F for making money the fastest

though not everyone can aim lasers :D a medium with the free 75% ammo refill can also do great at making money, had good luck with my hbk-4g and hbk-4p, granted not as much as my jr7-f

could always rock a laser commando build if you were purely interested in profit margin.... can fit 3 MPL and a std 175 in a com-1b with maxed armor (-2 from my math) as long as you use ES and DHS, and that is the cheapest thing ever to repair if you get completely wiped off the map, but has enough speed you can spot targets for cbill bonuses and still do some okay-ish damage with the 3 MPL long as you hit and run and stay near bigger team mates :)

I'm leaning towards something quicker than a commando in stock or near stock form. I'm pretty good with lasers as I pack them with most my builds and can get 800+dmg rounds out of my well equipped mechs. Just need something to build up the bankroll with.

I have noticed that the Awesome 8Q, a laser only 'mech, makes a nice amount of money for me at least. I have a standard 290 engine, no ammo, no fancy gear and gadgets, and no XL engine.

Doing well in battle with a victory can net you around120-160 c-bills; getting cored and totally destroyed with a loss on your side you can still make 20,000 or more C-bills. These are averages, but I have never lost money in this build that I know of. I'm at 6,000,000+ C-bills with around a 5 days worth of semi-hardcore playing with the clan.

despite the stock speed being a little on the slower end for a tiny mech, they can go pretty fast with minimal engine upgrades :) dropping in a std 175 like i mentioned makes them go as fast as a stock jenner, but even cheaper to run.... but yeah a com isn't for everyone

personally if you are fine with lasers, just go with a jr7-f, it is pretty fun to pilot (unless you suck and they put knock downs back in soon), and it has pretty good profit margins with no ammo to pay for and little armor to replace, with the stock std 245 and speed tweak i go 120kph in mine

I stay away from XL engines due to increased repair cost and greater chance of death...

Jenners are good. . the three streak commando can be viable. . .XL engines are fine for those, as the torso is contained enough that if you get one shot out from under you, you were probably already dead anyway. Don't forget, 75% free ammo if you don't auto reload, stack an extra ton of ammo, and have fun!

The other one I can recommend [barely] and it sounds cliche'. . is Yen Low Wang. I can't explain the success I've had in this thing. . as far as it goes it's a piece of SH**. I have it configured with endo, DHS, Gauss, Mplas, Mlas, AMS. . and max armor. Compared to every other cent variant it's a complete piece of junk. . and yet I typically manage at least one kill per match with the thing. On a win, I make about 20-30k more than with my Founder's mechs. Costs about 8k average to rearm.

That's been my experience, anyway. . your mileage may vary void where prohibited check local state, federal, and international law.

Offer not valid in Delaware. . but nobody lives there anyway :)

I would have to ask what your play style is, in order to be able to further assist you.

Long range combat, or close range, do you do a mix, a preference?

I would definitely refrain from putting an XL engine in a money making mech, as those are expensive when they go.

Yeah, ghetto delight hunchback will make you money.

What you want are low repair costs, and that means using a standard engine. Since a 75% rearm level is free, ammunition is never a concern on any build unless you don't devote enough tonnage to it. Instead it's all about the expensive stuff to repair... XL engines that get cored, and ferro fibrous armor that gets damaged. Avoid those two things, and you can definitely make money.

Hi All! ))
To make money I like my CICADA 2A with 2 ER PPC!
In any case (your team wins or loses), DPS from 2 ER PPC is GOOD! (almost all the matches it is greater than 1к)

Lately I have been using a CN9-A with the AC/10 3 SSRMs and 2 medium lasers. With DHS and endo steel I can pack enough ammo (4 tons AC/10 and 2 tons SSRM) to never have to refill and still have max armor on the 3 front torso sections and the right arm.

I costs about CB 30,000 to repair and can do some serious damage. Just shoot exclusively at the torso and you can core an Atlas. I also eat Commandos for breakfast.

Thanks for the advice all. I ended up with a Jenner D and it's doing quite well at money making. Can't do teh damage of my other mechs in it's unupgraded state but I managed a 368 damage round without the pilot upgrades. I'm sure a full Endo/DHS/XL Jenner can do serious damage but I don't want the repair bills.

I have found that ES and DHS repair costs are negligible, however the benefit you can gain from them is not :D if you want something that is still useful and fun to play, might as well go for em, however min/max'ers will probably argue with me there

just dont touch FF with a 10 foot pole, that stuff is pretty useless and can up repair bills a bit

I'm making good money with a Jenner-D.
It has endo, ferro, 300 XL, 2xssrm-2 +2 tons of ammo, 4 medium lasers and 12 DHS.
Turn rearm off.
It absolutely mauls any other light and you can "swoop" on larger mechs and take a chunk out of them each time.
Just hope your bigger teammates can actually play decently and take down some of their bigs.
