Why all the nit picking?

As the title states why? It's the 1st game on our beloved battletech universe in over a decade.
I know we all want this game to be perfect, but what is perfect for me might not be perfect for you.
There are literally THOUSANDS of us around the globe. The Dev's are trying to craft a game to please a fanatic fan base. NOT an easy task, if not impossible.
The game in the condition it is in right now is a big step over the other games. It's not perfect by any means( no offense, dev's), it's a work in progress. It will improve. The Dev's are as big of fans as we are!
So, as I have seen on many posts, I welcome the constructive feedback, it shows we care.
On others it's just complaining its not like the other game. Which you are right it's not.
And that is why I want this game as much as I do!
It's new, it will constantly improve, and I think we will all enjoy this game.
So Mechwarriors, Are YOU ready for the next drop?

Sure once the real launch comes we'll get even more threads of "OMG WHY???" or "XYZ DOESN'T WORK" and some such, but such is the way of online communities. Hell I'm sure we'll still get threads about what happened to MW5 based on the old old trailer once public release hits.

In all seriousness, I believe it's because there is an ever-present fear that the game will get screwed up somehow. Granted, PGI has set precedence in exceeding many of or fears... It's tough to let it go and trust the direction.

Problem is, that these nits are the fresh ones. And suggestions from our lads helped to make their recipe.

For instance:
- Would you like to see an AC/10 deliver 75% of the damage-over-time that an AC/20 puts out, like in MW4:Mercenaries, or would you rather have the AC/10 deliver half the damage-over-time as an AC/20 like the BattleTech Rules say it should?
- Would you like to see PPC's used as point-blanke brawling weapons, or would you like to see some kind of penalty for firing a PPC within that close of range like the BattleTech rules say?
- Would you rather see autocannons fire a single bullet for each salvo, or would you rather see them fire a burst of shells like the canon Lore and BattleTech Rules say they do?
- Would you like to see Mechs continue to stand upright when they lose a leg, or should they automatically fall-over and have to attempt to stand back up after losing a leg as the BattleTech rules say they should?
- Would you like to see Mechs run the risk of randomly tripping any time they walk through a certain distance of water like how the rules say?
- Do you want to see Mechs explode when they die? That's not in the rules.

It is (hopefully) taken as common knowledge that no one here can have a finite discussion on the game since we do not have our hands on it, and it is (also hopefully) taken as common knowledge that we understand that our perception of something that we do not yet have our hands on can change once we do in fact get our grubby little mitts on it.
This should be taken for granted and not misconstrued as "nitpicking". The community needs a way to pass the time rather than twiddle its thumbs.

So far, it's been pretty damn positive. So, why are you nitpicking about it?

You answered your question. What they are doing is nigh impossible.
It cannot/ will not please certain types of players. Who those are, no one really knows yet, might even be you. I think that is peoples concern, they don't want to run into deal breakers down the road for them that they know will hamper their enjoyment of a game they so desire.
I don't want anything close to perfect, just not the minimalism I see that is rewarded at times in the gaming industry. My needs are quite different than a Battletech board gamer. Developers set their standards based on their money, their talent, their employee assets, their work ethic, etc. If only it was desire and wishful thinking, but compromises have to be made during development (more for some devs), sometimes gamers try to guide were compromises should not be made. I have been around gaming too long, I know what talented people can do with a good team and I want to see others pull it off. It takes years and years of practice though.
F2p, may be the greatest thing that happened to me, they have to produce something worthy first.
Kind of back to the days, you show the demo first, then I buy if I like. (We should never have left). It promoted quality 1st, not the "I want to go to gaming school and make games and play games all day too".
I'm not buying the game to be in a beta, that kind of fan I will not be, it makes me a bit different here probably.
Often times, it's not the 10 great things they did right that makes a game great, it's the 2 bad things that give it warts people can't see past that hurt the game. First impressions matter, it has to get polished enough to get the warts out, that takes time. I'm not expecting this game to be as polished out of the gate as others I play, I'm lowering expectations, I should be able to be pleased.
