Eh, no game will please all of the critics. The best that could be done is to adhere to the most preferred systems by the majority. Of course some things may need to be tailored to function in a game of this setting, if things are changed they are changed.

See, it's comments like that, that make me question everything and stay on alert.
How do you know how their model is?
Most F2P models are "designed", hence the choice to go f2p (not cause they love you freely), to suck you in and get a lot more money out of you than a normal game.

Because they told you it will be ok, and you trust them?
Maybe I am getting too old.

You can have the greatest game in the world, make it f2p with it's psychological coersiveness that is almost always used later in game, and ruin it.
Examples exist.

The enticing greed for pay to play MMO's(cash in fist 24/7), and the recent steps back to F2P mechanics, have changed gaming in an ugly way to many.
You say people should just accept it?

It's not about money, I have no problem paying a hundred dollars for a game but few have the "potential", let alone resources, to build such games. Especially when people will pay for much less.

The problem is they have to make a game that doesn't encourage stealing/freeloading, not by punishing paying customers, but at the same time makes new players want to support them. That is what I want to see.

Go play League of Legends to understand what the Free to Play model should, and likely will, look like for MWO.

It really is perfectly applied in League.

Thank you, I've heard. In fact, it's usually the only one mentioned that does it well.
I almost checked it out for that reason alone, the core game didn't interest me at the time.
Hopefully the devs checked it out. ;)

Quite assumptive, considering of all the f2p games out there, only one does it well.
I used to be that assuming as a fan many years ago, I had to learn not to be, the hard way.

Sounds like you'll never be fully convinced of anything on your own until someone convinces you. :D

Nit picking is absolutely vital for a game like this to be any good.

Everything we have seen so far looks amazing, which is why it would be truly tragic if some small detail derailed the whole experience. The standard example on these boards is the tendency to do nothing but snipe in Mechwarrior 4. It would have only required a few small changes ("nits", if you will) to make that game so much better than it was.

This is one of the huge advantages of free to play though. If there are minor issues in the gameplay that end up causing problems, the developers are in an excellent position to fix those issues very quickly for everyone.

I have near total faith that this game will be great. But I also know that the constant careful criticism is an important factor in that happening.
