Can someone help me out with this? I've frozen almost every time I saved my mech in the mech hangar.

Try saving on every little change you make. I've noticed that in my mechlab, some mechs are good about it, some mechs lock up nearly every time (like Yen Lo Wang).

The constant saves seem to reduce the problem for me. Also, when it does freeze up, I don't lose the entire build, just the last item.

Yeah, it sucks, but overall, it's still better than other stuff to do.

It certainly seems that the larger number of changes, the more prone it is to lagging out and crashing. Sometimes if it has 'hung' you can wait it out but more often than not you're sunk.

It happens everytime I buy something. Even if it's just a heatsink.
Mechlab also freezes when buying a new mech.
Try swapping items you already possess and check it it works or still freezes.
