The reason it seems there are so many voices of discontent that drown out the voices of praise is that those who would be praising are too busy playing. Are there a plethora of items that must still be addressed and corrected? Of course. Ahem. Beta. This game will never be "perfect" for everyone. It can't be. PGI has to make "most" people happy and the game will be successful.

We all want more from this game. Let's give them the time to deliver.

I paid for founders and I dropped coin on some MC during their sale as it was a good deal. I have over two hundred dollars invested in this game. I'm already happy with the game play mechanics, I know things will improve and be tweaked over time. Even in the games current state I still think I've got value for my money as I still have the majority of my MC for future content. I've now spent more hours than I would ever readily admit to my wife playing this game. If I blow $60 on a game I play for only 10 hours on my xbox and then never play again, MWO is a fantastic deal. As a business owner I understand that time is money. I see two camps of people complaining about the game. The first are those who are cheap/poor SOBs who can't or won't drop coin into something that can/does entertain them for hours on end. The second are people who aren't content with PGI's interpretation of the BT universe. I'm really looking forward to the community pillars as I think it will bring a sense of completeness to what is turning out to be a great game and silence some critics.

Soon we should be able to pick who we play against in the matchmaker if this game is to become tournament friendly. With that, even if PGI's implementation of community warfare sucks, we can still create our own overlay of a meta game. Hopefully with the cash injections PGI has been receiving from Founders and MC they can deliver a kick bang pow knockout of a game that we all want. I've devoted a good chunk of my life to the Battletech universe just as many of you have. We all want this to be a successful game. However, WE ARE NOT AT THE HELM. PGI is. We can help steer the boat by voicing our concerns, wishes and likes but we can't set our end destination. Only PGI can. Don't make them walk the plank before they are done with their work!

No, I'm not. I wanted Mechwarrior, and this is not it.

It's either playing against "Elite Tweakers" who think slapping SRM's and Medium Lasers ad nauseum on a mech requires some sort of cretive genius, or becoming one myself and spending several minutes on Youtube to look up a "leet build". This is only after I've mindessly grinded for hours to obtain this Shangri-la of so-called "real gameplay" or dropped a paycheck for only a finite portion of the game. Neither alternative is appealing to me.

MW4 was a mess, but atleast I could get myself into stock only matches. But now? Playing the "elite tweaker" treadmil is how this game keeps itself alive. It won't support somebody who doesn't give into it, so I cannot support MWO in return. I thought this would be something new, but everything that was terrible about MW4 has crept into this game.

This game is about money, both real and digital, and not the gameplay. I'm very dissapointed to be cashing my chips on the franchise.

The gameplay mechanics are adequate and has potential but the implementation and really unpolished nature of the game, coupled with no attempts to add content before money grabbing leaves little hope for improvement. We'll see PGI double down on their bad choices. There's no way community warfare will happen in 2013, and if it does it's going to be a gigantic buggy mess that breaks the game further than it already is. The only way I see this not failing is If someone buys the game from them and makes it into a $50 title and shifts the focus to fun from money grubbing. I doubt that the egos involved would be able to let it go or reneg on some of their really bad decisions.

Voted Yes.

But I'm finding that I'm playing less and less. I think mainly I'm getting tired of the very limited game play.

I'm just hoping that on Tuesday the next matchmaking patch is released and it makes things better :(

No patch on Tuesday the 11th, next patch is the 18th.

I like it so much I've been upgrading my computer to get it to run better. I've never owned a gaming machine so that's high praise. Bugs are to be expected, that's why they have beta testers :)

Probably won't help. Game is terribly un-optimized at this point.

Considering some of the absolute rubbish that is on the market at the moment MW:O is very good and I really enjoy it but as has been said, its beta and PGI have put a good effort in so far they just need to keep it up, just remember slow sustained growth and diversity! don't bring the clans in to quickly please...

Quality over quantity so resist the urge to flood the game with mechs to buy that have been rushed in for the cash oh and sort out euro servers please :)

I like it but liking it doesn't mean it's good nor justifies the horrible things they are doing with it. They all hyped up this MW revive title to sell Founders then immediately ran it into the ground with a shameless business model mere months later. I bet next patch they will continue to not fix any of the game's problems or do anything about the ECM. What they will to do instead is add more stuff for them to sell. You know it's not a good sign when your game is half finished but instead of finishing it or fixing it you just focus on making more crap to sell. New mechs I am behind, but the high costs on all of them when there will soon be 100 variants is absurd. They're also selling hero variants for even more absurd MC prices. Either reduce MC prices or reduce MC cost. This last one didn't even exist in the lore. They wanted a Cataphract hero variant to sell so badly that they just made one up, despite saying earlier that they would all be in Battletech lore. If you couldn't get an ideal Cataphract hero variant, then how about "not" having one until later? Nothing they say is held true mere months later. They say we're doing to this, then do something entirely different. They also originally said there would be no Premium-only weapons/Mechs. Ya, remember that? And why are things like this(Mass production to stuff to sell) so high on their priority list? What should be highest, yet isn't at all, is the experience of newer users. This game has already been turned into a cash crop before it's even been finished or passed its Beta.

So ya, it's fun, but be prepared to have your eyes gouged out for every dollar to your name in order to enjoy any of it. Meanwhile my GW2, which only got 80$ from me, has my played clock at almost 950 hours since its release. If I spend anymore money, they're going to get it, not Piranha. I'd rather buy gems on there instead of MC on here. Obviously they aren't in the same league, equal in release times/development, nor even the same type of game, so save it if you're going to flame me. Point is that as far as a simple price vs reward comparison goes, that title is simply 100x more worth your time(and money), and I'm sure many other monthly-free games are as well. Hell, there's F2P titles all over Steam you could be playing instead. There's also still League of Legends, a game that did every single possible thing right with a F2P title while MW is doing pretty much all of it wrong. At this point I'd be surprised to find out that any of these people that even heard of that game. It's not too late to change most of this BS, but at this point I think it's a safe bet that'll never happen.

Same here, voted yes but have not played a games for weeks now, lack of content and the ultra low reward system bored me to hell. The economy if so unrewarding that i don't play my hard grinded catapult-c1(2xlrm15 with 720ammo, 3xmpl, tag, endo), if i win with that setup, i get 40-65k c-bill after repair and rearm. When i play in a trial mech i get 60-90k c-bill. Then the price of everything went up... I still love the game but i'm gonna keep waiting till it has more to offer.

Economy is one thing that still needs serious changes. I wonder if it'll ever happen. They shouldn't have ceased account wipes with it like this then, worse yet, leave it this way for such a long time.

I hate to burst your bubble dude, but most of those people already voted with their feet. The people reading these forums are for the most part dedicated MW fans. Everyone I introduced to this game once it went open beta has lost interest and moved on.

To tell the truth, MWO bored me so much that i used the 60$ i was keeping to buy MC or premium time and bought Diablo 3 on black friday. I regret nothing. As i said, im gonna wait till the game has more to offer. But i really wonder what the player base will be a year from now...

I enjoy the game. I think it's great though of course it has its problems right now (still in beta). It's for sure a fresh new gameplay experience compared to the other junk coming out these days. While the developers are kinda slow on fixes and features, I think through time the game will become even better and eventually complete. If you want to know true disappointing complete garbage sequels look at Supreme Commander 2, Red Orchestra 2, and Battlefield 3. Even with bugs in MWO, it wont ever go lower than those games. ...Unless ofcourse they did some major overhaul to the whole game and turned it into HAWKEN for no reason which wont ever happen as well. So it's a unrealistic thought.
