Anyone here have the knowledge to create Range vs Damage line-graphs for weapons?... So that we can see where things start dropping off, how fast they drop off, and at what point my AC/20 is doing less damage than an AC/2 (for example)?
It would be immensely beneficial for proper mech design / weapon usage.
Thanks

From 0 to range, full damage
From range to maximum range, a linear drop off. Starting at full damage, ending with 0.

Yes, someone worked it out back in closed beta. Every weapon (I think) has a linear decline from maximum optimal range to maximum range. A medium laser does 5 damage at 270m (maximum optimal range), 0 damage at 540 (maximum range), and therefore it does 2.5 damage at the midpoint between the two ranges (405m).

One exception being the PCC.
I don't know if it has a linear build up from 0 to minimum range or if ideals zero damage from 0 to min range.

Me find that PPC does virtually no damage from 0 to minimum range. Me has had PPCs shooting me at 0 to 89m on my full armor & not having it change color at all. (Even one damage seems to change it from 100% to the brighter yellow 99% armor.)
Me suppose it be about as weak as a single round of machine gun below minimum range.
