I'd like to see the option of purchasing a kit to convert a mech from one variant to another of the same base chassis. Ideally, the kit would cost less the variant would to purchase out right (not including equipment costs). Additionally, the kits should not alter upgrades and should only alter hard points, the mech's in game model, and if the mech supports jump jets or not. Upgrades, like endo-steel and double-heatsinks, should not be changed.
The core reasoning behind this is that in order to achieve mastery with any mech I need to own three variants of it. Generally speaking, there's no mech with variants which I'd want to own.

Truthfully, it doesn't matter if we like it or not, PGI will not do it. We've had many various threads about simply removing the whole 3 variant requirement and tripling the xp cost of each box so that it balances out but they won't do that either.
