Loaded up my mechs taking into account single heatsinks and standerd armor. I thought they were really undergunned but I'm glad to say I was wroung. Well paced fighting too.

as waching this vid I pulled out my Tech Readout. And im gona guess you gave them the weapons and then jumped the armor up. Either that or you didnt change it but just so you know each of thoes mechs have WAY to much armor. For example the raven has 30 points of armor in Cnter Torso. it should only have 11. Otherwise like was said before we do this all the time in 1st RR. Its alot of fun.

I looked at the armor values on MWO wiki and subtracted 12% because ferro fibrous is 12% more effective then standard. If you think its still to much MWO must be different then what your book says.

There are loadouts you can get that are premade to be the BT loadouts and are pretty fun to mess around with in MW4. Start up a multiplayer server and set the bots to similar models and it makes for faster play but really fun.

Two problems: First, MW4 is generally much faster than MWO/tabletop, with battles taking seconds instead of minutes. The other problem is, MW4 'Mechs come with odd heat reduction values--like, load two mechs up with 5 heat sinks and one PPC, have them both fire the PPC continuously, one will overheat before the other--if the other overheats at all.

Still. I do enjoy a good MW4 'Mech loaded with a standard variant load-out. Sometiems it's really hard to do with their wonky hardpoint system though, and good luck playing a 'Mech with missile pods / giant gun hand and NOT having htem shot off immediately ;)

Facsimile, as in similar, its obviously a poor representation of the quality of work we expect from PGI's yet to-be-launched future endeavor into the mech mashing orgazmotron. However if the comparison bothers you , you could always get the public beta up for our consumption instead, I'm sure there would be no complaints in the our shared undertaking of that endeavor.

The problem is with MW4 is the armor values are to high, and due to the era the game takes place in. All the battlemechs are double heat sink. In order to get accurate test data you would need to create a dummy unit a.k.a target drone a.k.a cannon fodder. What I do is I take what mechs we know of and find out how much their armor is, and how much that is in ferro fiberous. Then I consider if the mech needs all those double heat sinks. Example is if you only have 13 heat on a single heat sink mech then you only need ten double heat sinks. Normally I just create an armor dummy of each weight class using the mech with the heavist armor. Then I go into wave mode in instant play, and test out weapons that way. Of course the dummies aren't equipped with weapons, so no worries of them firing back. This normally gives you an idea of what type of fire power your mech design is packing. Note: dummies armor is set to ferro fiberous equivalent of standard armor in TT.

This is silly. You'd need to mod the crap out of MW4 to have even a rough approximation Weapon ranges, heat capacities, armour, everything would need changing.

Even that would lack convergence et al. and would still have coolant.

Hf though...

The customization systems between the two are really different so I don't think this will work very well.

Why did I not see a Pink Madcat in that video?

But on a serious note, I just got an extreme sense of nostalgia watching that.
