At the beginning of the game, hit F9, and then turn off your hud by doing Right-shift+F11. Watch the framerate go up by 10-20fps given the situation. Obviously, this only works well in spectating though unless you don't want to aim.
I hope the devs are aware that their hud is eating away my framerate! What the heck?

Every part of the UI is greedy code (including the HUD as well as the front end UI)

Yeah the devs already mentioned that scaleform / action script (which is what the HUD uses afaik) were taking more resources then they would like and were most likely the cause of everyones frame drops (those with rigs where you can notice the drop anyway)
They said an update to actionscript or whatever should be out soon and once it is I think they said they will be basically "re-doing" the code for the hud/ui so it runs better or something..........
I cant find the post but its somewhere.....

Cant confirm this, sorry. Just tested it, no change of FPS at all - setting very high, postAA, 30 FPS no matter with or without HUD. But maybe my system is "good enough" to not be affected by FPS drop anyway? I also do not have the 4FPS bug

I've noticed it a few times when the match ends, as soon as the HUD disappears I suddenly jump up to the 100fps+ area.
That's with everything on very high but no AA/shadows.

I tested this and this is not true for my system. No noticeable difference in fps with the HUD off.

I turned my hud off got 9fps more most times. This sux....hope it is fixed soon. Seems like the performance downgrade has coincided with all these new hud bug too.....someone screwed up some code.

Of course turning of the HUD will increase performance, would be strange if not.
The devs themselves said there are performance issues with the HUD.

You guys shoudl read the stuff posted in the Command Chair more often.
