Uff going over to Steam would be a death sentence for MWO at this stage.

Doesn't change the costs for PGI.

They may want to fix their new player experience and improve their player retention rates before they do that.

It's getting a lukewarm reception at the moment at best. Going open beta early was a short sighted blunder already.

If they don't make this game as smooth and as presentable with all content put in before going on steam, it will be a death sentence alright.

That and IGP-PGI doesn't like sharing its profit cake with anyone.

Yes it would.

I fear that it would give the same result as it did for Tribes Ascend, take a look at this link: http://steamstatshis...ot.com/id/17080 .

This game is horrid for new players. They need to fix that before even thinking about going Steam.

It's not that simple. Firstly, there are costs involved. PGI has already established it's infrastructure, which must have cost a lot, and moving to Steam would render all of that wasted, AND reduce their revenue due to fees payable to Steam.

Secondly, Steam have very specific rules about updates, funds, etc., that might just not fit in with PGIs plans. We don't want Steam limiting our experience.

Lastly... why? I like Steam for the sales, but having MWO in there would add nothing that I want.

Edit: Overkurator was the guy kicking up a fuss about Ilya Muromets' name. Now Overkurator2 makes a nonsensical argument about Steam. I see a pattern.

surprising.
The robot was originally built from garbage.
the entire robot is part of the other robots.this is not a unique machine.
is a bunch of garbage.

The pilot of the robot is not a hero.
ordinary bandit.of course

it will offend the Slavs.

Surprising. The gray death legion was fighting in scrap/garbage and agromechs. Your argument is invalid.

I don't care if it's ALSO available through Steam, but it CANNOT be exclusive. There's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too much SEVERE Steam hate to allow it to survive. Of the 11 people in my group (myself included) only 1 allows Stream on their system. While we're extremists, we're not alone. The game would lose a good percentage of players instantly, and nothing would ever bring them back.

It will make lots and lots of people try out the game.. and then find out how painful it is for a new pure
free to pay player and quit, never giving it a second chance.

In Steam go:

Games -> Add Non-Steam Game to My Library

Choose MWO from the list.

Boom, MWO is in Steam.
