in the patch notes its says the ECM will Slow down weapon locks by 25% for you and friends.

so if i had LRMs or SRMs and was equiped with ECM. i would find it harder to lock onto a enemy mech?

No, the increased lock applies only to enemy mechs trying to target you. It has no ill effect on you or your team. The wording in the notes could certainly be better.

Targeting by pressing "R" is not same as locking "with missiles".
It slows down a missile lock and not targeting, if i am correct.

It also kills detection down to 200m or so. No detection, no lock.
