You can grow some balls and use something other than a Streak Cat.

I'm equipping my cat with 4x SRM6, and 2x SSRM2. That way I can still pop those damn Jenners easily enough while I wait for a moment to strike with the SRMs. I'll end up switching the SSRMs out for 2x SRM4s as soon as i can get aiming down properly. I like this cat a lot more, it feels less.... cheap.

the huge difference is that my AC shots go where i shoot them while the SRMs don't...
even on a still standing target their dmg will spread over the whole mech and on small mechs and medium mechs even around it... so the actual dmg is greatly reduced.

double post but mehh...

i have to turn back my anger a bit... after one shotting some ECM ravens with that SRM cat... >_>
i still miss my LRMs but meh...


can anyone suggest a good build? i'm running 4xSRM6 and 2xSRM4 now, but it runs hot really fast and will probably have ammo problems in longer matches (500rockets, 21HS, 280XL)

Well I really dont know, i just bought now Cata A1 but i see now just bad time... I rly dont know what build to use now.. since i cant use LRMs and SSRms what i can do.. with these SRM its not so good.. Every other mechs are better now :(

ssrm/lrm works - just get a friend that use ecm boat/be lucky and get into not-so-terrible pug. I'm actually happy to see that streakcats are unable to 2-hit-ko lights anymore.

Instead use 6 SRM4s. Same damage but closer spread. SRM4s don't spread as much by default.

With Artemis? And What about 5x Srm6s + artemis? And how i can load so much? I can load max. 4 srm4s not talking about 6x srm 4 or 5x srm6 how? :(

That speed, dat ammo in legs(Hnnng). You are just asking for people to shoot your legs off going that fast in a Cat, and 41 leg armor won't save you.

They effectively removed the A-1 from the game...? It's a damn support mech. It's built for teamwork, and LRMs are great if you have a scout with TAG.

It's my experience that most people usually go for the torso though.


The very impossible to hit torsos that are also used by Gauss Cats(same mech type, diff variant). Legs on a Catapult are gigantic compared to the side torsos, and fall damage from JJs add up.

left/right leg each:

Armor:
HD 18
CT 60
CTR 24
RT 42
RTR 18
LT 42
LTR 18
RA 40
LA 40
RL 33
LL 33

TL;DR:

symmetrical layout:
4xSRM6, 2xSRM4, 20 HS, 600 shielded Ammo, 280XL, full armor except legs, no upgrades (to keep it somewhat cheap)

LRMs and SSRM don't work any more. they whole mech just became pointless (as all rocket heavy mechs)...

Actually, they do work. You can mix SRMs with SSRMs any way you like, or just don't bother and use 6 SRM4+Artemis in chainfire. Big slow mechs go down much faster then, and lights still gets enough missiles to run away in panic.

You don't. SRM's won't go exactly where you aim anyway, so just point crosshair in direction of enemy mech and push fire button. Adjust according missile behavior and enemy movements - somehow, its even easier then maintaining guided missiles lock. Just try to not hit friends too much and don't close bay doors.

No one shoots legs though. No one. Some people run around with less than 18 leg armor. :D
