It would maybe motivate people to fight harder and smarter if at the end of game scoreboard remaining players can tick a players name as the "mvp" and that player can get increased rewards of some type. to acknowledge the times when someone carries the team.

I agree, an honor system would be pretty good.

It would get gooned.... People would deny who "ACTUALLY" carried the team, and vote for a scrub.... No, letting players decide who was the best other than the "TALLY" at end of round is a bad idea...

simply make the vote blind til all votes are in. in a non voice pug this means it will be nothing, and have it only give reward if at least 3 people vote for the one who has most votes. would be pretty simple to avoid overgaming it if its in a PUG situation. and im assuming in an 8 man that your team are not gigantic ******** and would reward who did well.
