Uac5 Bugged!

Besides the fact they jam and double shot on a single fire, they now stay on perma cooldown.

The UAC5 stayed on perma-cooldown and was unable to use weapon with 59 shots left.

Please address...

I think I might have seen this issue with SRMs earlier. I thought at the time it had something to do,with ECM/Artemis but was told they should have still been firing. Later I had normal SRMs do the same thing. Pressing many different weapon group keys eventually got them to fire and then unstick. Devs need to look into this one, very annoying.

It's quite bad - perma jam is not very fun when you got two of that weapon and only two medium pulses.

It wasn't a jam for me, just the cool down bar wasn't moving and they weren't firing. I think firing my other weapons group while hitting both mouse 2 and button two somehow freed it up. So try that as workaround if it happens again. Post back if it happens again too.

Having the same bug. Very annoying, makes UAC5 completely useless...

Yes, I'm seeing the issue as well. Pulling off my UAC5's for now.

Yep, I hope this isn't wanted and it's just a bug. UAC5's were almost there from a ballast pov, although I find silly to have them jamming even by simply triggering them for the first time. I guess I'll have to cut the legs off the maintenance guy..

Given Garth's reaction to it early I'm guessing it's a bug.

I had the same once. That was the first time I used them on IM and regrouped them for the first time. Cool down satyed up and that was it. I had only one MPL left. And we won the match still :o

I was running a 3UAC5 Ilya Muromets just now and all 3 jammed on me perma! LOL!

It's definitely a bug. Hope the Devs hotfix it.

I had this happen multiple times last night as well. The cooldown bar just sat at full.

What do you mean, "last night"? You mean pre-patch??!

PGI could just save themselves lots of headache if they simply ripped out the misguided jamming logic from all ballistic weapons. Balancing should be done by adjusting:
  • Weapon purchase costs
  • Weapon repair costs
  • Weapon ammo costs
  • Heat generation rate
  • Damage per shot
  • Weapon firing rate
  • Weapon explosion probability

That's how to balance a weapon, not introduce a completely random and nonsensical chance to jam. Because if you're going to do that, then you need to provide a chance for ALL weapon types to jam, not just ballistics. Missile bay doors can jam. Lasers can blow capacitors. And I think if missiles and lasers were included in this "jam fest", the MWO community would be in an uproar, and rightly so.

This whole jamming thing is WAY more trouble than it's worth. And the thing is, it seems like most people hate it anyway. Why bother? Seriously?

And if I hear one more person say that the UAC5 jams because it's in the table top rules, I think I'll just throw up all over these forums. This isn't table top - this is MechWarrior Online.
