I also get 4fps slide show occasionally. Right at the beginning of the match. I just occupy our base to delay the other team just a bit if they cap.

Oh, I've gotten the 4fps bug before but this one was the bug and a bit more. Fore instance the minimap shows allies and myself as blocks, the text also shows up as blocks, and I couldn't see textures just what seemed to be shadows

yeah, i was getting that instead of the typical 4fps bug for a few patches now. it does seem to be a variant of the 4fps bug.

Have had this lots in the past. Have had dead teammates talk me through matches before, haha, kind of funny. 1kill and a couple wins despite not seeing anything but occasional reticules. Used to happen after playing 6+ matches. Now I crash before I get to that point, but definitely don't miss it.

Really. It works EVERY time. In game. Alt-Tab out. Open Firefox. Go back in game. Frame rate fixed. Not sure why. It may have to do with the way MWO is handling GPU memory or CPU thread allocation. It'll try your settings when I get home to see if it fixes my issue permanently. If not, I'm happy with my Alt-Tab solution for now. lol

Lucky you! Not for me though, works only in the first 4 fps match, after that only restart helps.

Honestly, my connection magically was fixed when I manually changed my POV in my user.config file to 80. I didn't have that before and suddenly I'm back up to 40 fps.

I also deleted my old code in there that I had to enable betty before she was standard.

Either one of those may have fixed my framerates, or it could just be a giant coincidence. *shrug*

How would a browser have any affect on a game that has no relation to it Im sorry but I dont believe this you can try thishttp://mwomercs.com/...s/page__st__280

Firefox in it's default configuration use the GPU to boost image quality and reduce stress on the CPU. I know it exist because I had to deactivate the GPU usage on Firefox to remote control my computer properly over internet.

Maybe this access to the GPU ressources is what fix the 4fps bug?
In that regard, does starting in the background any other game also fix the 4fps bug?

the 4 fps bug appears because the gpu and vmem clocks are on 2d clocks.

simple override it with msi afterburner and u don´t need to alt-tabbed out - open FF and tab back anymore.

note if u keep the 3d clocks while only in 2d mode (browsing or watching video as example) the gpu will keep a high power level.

edit
i have no clue why mwo sometime running with 2d clock speed... but i think its the poor programming.

there is no work around that will fix this as the settings are all game side we hav to wait till they employ sum-one who can do the job of programming this game at the moment it looks as if they hav not got any at all

well that 4fps issue has a reason, the reason is that the GPU and vmem clock drops down to 2D clocks.
i don´t know why that clocks drops, maybe a memleak?

msi afterburner or other oc tools can override this so that will not appears anymore.

this 4fps issue is not the same as this fps drops during brawling combat !

Maybe this is something that is do to the way they coded the net code. Hopefully, the "from scratch" rebuild of the netcode will fix all of these issues and we'll see across the board system stabilization during gameplay. That's my Christmas wish, at least.
