Think of it like the opening scene of "Enemy at the Gates". Odd-numbered pilots get a mech, even-numbered pilots get the ammo. :)

I haven't played a Mechwarrior title since 4, over 10 years ago, so I was a little spotty on my Battletech lore. Chose Rasalhague because of the pilot name I wanted, and it seemed like FRR fit it best. Now that I'm reading up on the background again, I'm stoked at my choice. Drunken Vikings Fighting the Power! Woot!

Great info package, thanks a million for that. I remember sympathizing the FRR ever since encountering the faction for the first time while playing MW2 mercs (back in late 90's) and getting more acquainted to the republic has done nothing to diminish that sympathy. With me even being a Nordic and all, the FRR seems and obvious choice. However I can't seem to be able to fly the flag due to error 404... Maybe MWO site has ran out of FRR allegiance icons due to high demand? ;)

i like my norwegian pronunciation of it better, but i find the AGUE part a little non-scandinavian.

It's very English. I can't think of any UE in Swedish that is one Syllable.

So the FRR happens to be the only true democracy in the Inner Sphere. I can't wait to see how this faction turns out. I know that we get our *** handed to us by the Clans, but it will be interesting to see where we end up in the faction battles.

BTW, if there were a Cimmerian faction, I would have chosen that one first.

Well, it isn't a true democracy, technically... it's a republic.

Well...thats what happens when Red Dragon disrespects its own set. Half the Red Dragons leave and make their own set...the Blue Dragon's. Now the Red and Blue Dragons will continue to fight in the hood over turf and prostitutes. Atleast thats the way It looks from a Marik point of view.

There is something to be said about the rush seeing a dear and old friend as you walk down the street. There is that first little doubt like "Wait a sec, I know you!" and then the excitement sets in and you yell out to your friend. They turn and look at you and squint thier eyes as if to say, "Am I really seeing this?" Then they get excited and rush to you and you both catch each other up in mountian crushing hugs!.

Oh Battletech, How I have missed you!!! I cant wait to ressurect my old FRR character and start kickin some Drac butt all the way back to the Periphery!!

I would much prefer Finland to be part of Scandinavia, than anywhere else. (where would Finland fall anyway?) I am Finn by blood (possible soumi). Just wanted to throw my 2cents at the post that seemed to not get much attention ^.^
I like a steep lore and history, and a constant fight for freedom is a good fight by me :)

Well, I'm certainly not of scandinavian blood myself, but I'm all for being a Viking by choice. Bring on the booze and brawls!

i hang a swedish flag in my room, even tho im in england atm, ive been travelling to sweden alot this year n so this is the faction im joining, i like rebels, i like the nordic ways and the FRR is the only faction i think citizens are actually somewhat happy, apart from the numerous wars, so im gunna be changing my picture in about 5 minutes and by odin's beard we shall re write history. FRR all the way.

I'm going to have to give up my free-lance status. Being a space-VIKING is just too cool (plus it will make my Swedish gf happy).

Okay so I am new to Mech but, loving MWO and while setting up my profile I read a bit on each clan from MWO page and being of German heritage and farther back Scandinavian (Norse) heritage I decided I wanted to go with this clan. Now my question is where do I go to actually join the FRR and get a good group of players to group with?
