really I don't get what the gripe is about coolant flush, it's in the canon, it's not a big deal, it's a safeguard if you suck at heat management, and if it's used the way it's described it'll be one use, and afterwards you'll be running twice as hot because you won't have the heat efficiency you had before since you flushed out more than half your coolant for the quick heat drop. If you're already running hot enough to need this module that pretty much better be your last shot because otherwise you're done.

Because apparently this company is desperate for more money that they have to cross to P2W zone. I thought they were doing fine. Apparently not?

I'm excited about most of the changes PGI has announced, and I'm thrilled that they've made a big effort to improve communication with us. All I've seen today is bitching, so I thought I'd show some love.

"But OMG Coolant Flush!!1!" Shut the **** up. Seriously. You've kept playing through worse than a 35% heat drop. You've fought through the ECM madness, you've survived the scorpion-tail LRMs, you've lived through more HUD bugs than you care to remember, and you've endured one of the worst lag problems I've ever seen in a commercial FPS. Just chill for a moment (flush your coolant =P) and wait to see how things play out.

State rewind, testing grounds, more huge maps, more stats, more community events, and the ability to paint my fugly Hero 'mech? Yes, please. Keep up the good work.

They clarified that, at least.

Too bad this is still absolutely terrible.

Hey PGI, here, I made you an easy solution: Make all three of them available for C-Bills and MC.

Or even better, No consumables at all. These ideas they have for consumables are stupid even looking at them by themselves. Coolant flush makes the game even more focused on alpha striking with heat intensive builds. Artillery and air strikes are just Call of Duty lols. Oh **** you got me with an air strike, I applaud you on your mech piloting skills. Grats.

except, the exact quote is "The C-Bill Purchased Coolant Flush will allow a player to trigger a coolant flush twice during a match." notice how it doesn't say you need both to get two? go back to school kid

IF that's what he meant, than you have a point. I took it (as most people doubtless did)as an incorrect way of stating that you can space the total flush out over two flushings. If you can, in fact, get two uses out of each of the C-Bill Coolant Flushes, then yes, you are correct, and I will begin supporting you. But somehow, I doubt that's the case.

Did you miss the bit about the free flushes being worse than the paid flush?

You'll be able to flush 15% of your heat (more, based on your heat sinks).
Then you can flush 20% (more, based on your heat sinks)
A paid player can flush 35% (more, based on his heat sinks).

Oh, and for the cost of your two flushes? He gets an artillery barrage, too. A big one. Or an air strike. Or a capture accelerator.

There is no world in which two flushes is better than 1 + something else.

so where is this magical world where everyone on the opposite team buys MC consumables for every single match?
protip: it doesnt exist

because you can only get 1 flush per match with the MC version.
with the c-bill version you get 2 flushes per match.
2 is better than 1.
the c-bill flushes will remove a smaller amount of heat but it's a marginal amount and typically if you're in a situation where you NEED to flush for ONE MORE ATTACK then you should be already in the process of seeking cover or ACTUALLY in a situation where you only need one more shot and not just "oh maybe i just need one more or two or three or ooohh look at that im dead"

YOU GET ONE FLUSH ON THE CBILL VERSION. YOU GET TO FLUSH EACH OF THEM ONCE. THAT IS TWO TOTAL TO THE TOTAL EFFICACY OF THE SINGLE GOLDSINK.

That gold gets to have an airstrike in his other slot. Enjoy notpay2lose.

That's not what I meant. When I said that, I was under the assumption that you didn't mind WoT-style items (maybe even favored them) and my "So?" comment essentially meant that "I don't care what WoT does". It appears I misinterpreted your post. :D

I've actually never played WoT (because of the things I've heard about it). Some things are better off not being experienced.

Context is everything, my friend. I only stated that to point out that WoT has made money off consumables, and thus the person I replied to shouldn't be so dismissive of the precedent.

This is a completly naive and BS position. Look at what happened in the recent tournament. People played an insane amount of hours to win, demonstrating that there are those amoung us who will do whatever it takes.. Means + opportunity + the desire to win means it will happen. It's the fundamental problem with a P2W scheme.

investing time and investing money are two separate things when it comes to video games.
if you honestly cant understand that then your parents did something seriously wrong.

and then it's used after that one match and he'll have to buy another one. with real money. instead of food, or cigarettes, or gas to take his lady out, etc.
oh noes, he's got a SLIGHT advantage for ONE match. what ever shall i do. woe is me.

Cooling over time: Ten seconds to actually cool your mech 35% is significant and would take skill to use.

Expensive: If it cost 15000 C-Bills or more for both modules, you really have to win the matches to actually use them constantly.

Semi-Shutdown: Your mech has to stop in order to properly expell the coolant with a steam cloud.

Insta-cooling: The reason why everyone is up in arms about, real gamey and exploitive.

High Heat penalties: Probably never get these but they are why coolant flushes are use for.

Delayed Weapons firing: 6 PPC stalkers will have to take a risk waiting longer for their weapons to recycle or override to get to cover after their 2nd alpha.
