No-one will take a game with an MC only Consumable granting a competitive advantage seriously as an e-sport.
I don't even like e-sports... I loath them, I think they are asinine, and even I can see how this screws that pooch.

MC only consumable ....where did they add that ?

You lose a lot of respect points and get a lot of weird looks when you start off a conversation by tell them to shut up.

Yes, as it is (on paper), it's pay to win. You basically pay for an extra module slot. Yes I will be testing and providing feedback, etc. If they are going the pay to win route, that's just not something I can get behind. If you don't like the fact that I don't like that, too bad.

IT IS NOT PAY2WIN BECAUSE 1 FLUSH IS INFERIOR TO 2, EVEN IF IT IS A BIGGER SINGULAR FLUSH. THAT MEANS THE MC CONSUMABLE USER TRADED AN OPEN MODULE SLOT FOR A LESS EFFECTIVE FLUSH. (if the MC flush were only 25% like the c-bill one, or 15% like tier 1, it would actually be WORSE. having it at 35% is what makes it EQUAL. some day after you've grown up a little bit you'll understand)

THIS IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE HERO MECH MENTALITY.
IT IS NOT BETTER, IT IS DIFFERENT.
ONE MODULE SLOT VS 2 FLUSHES.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO ARGUE THAT C-BILL AND MC FLUSHES SHOULD BE 100% EQUAL THEN YOU ARE ALSO ARGUING THAT HERO MECHS SHOULD ONLY BE ALLOWED TO HAVE HARDPOINTS AND CAMO THAT C-BILL SPENDERS CAN ACQUIRE.

Personally I don't care, every person I face from now on could have the MC-purchased coolant and I could care less, it doesn't give them any more skill and would only make a difference slight on a direct battle where you can't take cover and lose the heat. I think the coolant flush would maybe give you one more alpha at most which could sometimes make the difference. Maybe I don't care because I really don't have any heat management problems. However I vote nay due to the mass QQ this is causing and would not like to see a decrease in mwo population over something so minor.

No, no isn't.

Giving an exclusive advantage (using 1 module versus 2) isn't a distinct advantage?

And what if your mech has only 1 module slot? You'd never get to 35% without doling out cash.

And I don't see why people thinks PGI would change this when they've been so stubborn about ECM.

If you follow them on Facebook, you are not far from the truth. Their trend of infantile memes lately is only supportive of your assertion.

I don't use Facebook because I generally find it infantile.

And the fact that the devs spend more time there than here is telling.

I don't see it as p2w at all. You can have a 1 time a match coolant flush, or a small and medium coolant flush which gives you 2 uses at the cost of another module slot. The C-bill one seems more useful to me.

Maybe I ought to mail you a dictionary, highlight the word "counter".

Holy cow look at that last line.. hmm.. what does it saaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

You don't have to do squat but play better.

Oh yes. Play better. You know how often you'll see coolant flush? Once use per game, costing about.. hmm 75mc (going by single use of pattern camo). How often do you really think people are going to be using this?
You think everyones ganna have it?
You think that you even NEED to counter it?
It's no different than people watching their heat already, you just have to play better and know that it's out there.

You know that more heat sinks means a higher heat capacity right? So 35% on a mech with more heatsinks is going to mean a heck of a lot more heat flushed.

I don't think that is accurate. The number of heat sinks means a higher heat decay rate. I think that the value of heat input and the resultant rise in the bar on the side from a given weapon is the same on any mech. I'd love to find out differently if I'm wrong.

However... say that you are correct anyways, since it won't matter to the math. Now say that you have two mechs that are identical in every way, only one mech has the one 35% coolant flush, and the other one has the two 15% and 20% flushes. Now say that both fire their PPC's until they are near overheat (heat value at 100 to put a number on it)and both hit the toilet. Flush! One mech with the MC coolant goes from 100 to 65, and the other mech goes from 100 to 80. Now, you can start firing those PPC's again, and when you get to 100, the one mech has to actually quit firing or shut down, while the other mech gets to flush again and goes from 100 to 85. Both mechs dumped 35% of their total heat. Of course, the cbill mech actually has a tactical advantage in that they can hold that extra flush for later, or just use it immediately in two quick flushes. If the cbill mech uses both flushes at once then the mech will lower their heat to 68%... essentially the same as the MC version.

I've been searching for the right thread to express my feelings but I'll just put it here.

I'm disappointed by how they are handling the coolant flush deal. Don't even feel like putting any reasons or arguments. (further disappointment may even be in store depending on how artillery and airstrikes are handled)

I'm not leaving, but it looks like i'm going to have to wait even longer to jump back into MWO... (if I could get a refund on my founder's support though i'd leave and never look back)

It's going to ruin the game.....

Not that ECM, streaks, the Raven, and a myriad of other things haven't done that already.

So real DHS were overpowered, but the ability to instantly dump most of your heat isn't?

Funny, I can't imagine buying the c-bill or MC version. I still can't figure out what the uproar is about. You don't have to hit "o" once or twice?
