GRow up people. ECM had very little impact besides allowing organized teams to cover their movment on flanking maneuvers.


I'm sorry if you didn't use the map and minimap before to figure out who was moving where, ECMs are incredibly imbalanced right now.

I'm sorry if you never used teammates before to scout for you, also hitting 'H' to bring up the mechs heat signature. Last I checked, ECM covered mechs still show heat sigs.

ECM'less mech's, they're not useless. Pilots who can't ADAPT, ACHIEVE and OVERCOME are useless.

ECM has made BAD players WORSE. I'm thankful for that. I love smashing people who don't have a clue. People who have the tools all around them yet refuse to open their eyes and use them.

ECM is a great addition to information warfare.

Tips;
1) find someone better than you - should be easy enough right?
2) observe them winning with non ECM mechs - easy, you run in and die like normal then watch them dominate people.
3) repeat above steps until you "get a clue"
4) practice what you have learned
5) lead by example

Херня ваша ECM, мало того что играть против основателей практически невозможно, так еще и ракеты не работают. Ублюдки!

I don't think I ever stated anything between brawling or non brawling, or direct fire ballistics are THE way to go. You can do both successfully now. All weapons are viable, brawling or non brawling.

The thing is I did all of that before also, but with the introduction of ECM, half of my gameplay is taken away and it now relies on someone else. Which--is perfectly fine for a 8 man drop--but you can't rely on someone if you do PUGs. Aside from the fact that the information now has to flow via text or even if you are on voice.

You can't exactly say, "Alpha is rotating clockwise and running west while trying to round the building that was previously behind him, while beta is backing up and rotating counterclockwise to counter the flanking pressure we applied" because the situation will have changed before it can be said. ECM removes this from the game....you can't do it anymore with a glance at the minimap or full map. If you didn't use the map in this way before--then you weren't playing to your full potential.

ECM removes this and replaces it with....HAHAHA!!!! I was hiding and shot you when you came around the corner because you couldn't see that I was there!!!!!

Sounds good. I have to test it more. Though I fear my Centurion 9A with 3x ssrm2 is a bit more useless now. Guess I gotta switch to srms...

I can still wreck face in my K2 with dual AC20s--but that doesn't mean the game is better with the addition of the ECM.

I fought a streakcat and hunchy last night in my SP damn close but lost. I played decoy for two missle boats. Yep without ecm after I charged then I died while our ecm team went for base. Knowing I would do so but I did it for the win. Missles still have there place plus your getting tag extended. Streakcats still need a nerf where missles dont focus on torso.

Just as a rub. Not having Torso profiles like a every other big gun toting mech out there is still bs. Not your fault but its lame.

Very soon on closed beta I perceived how the mini map was a HORRIBLE tool and payignattetion in your main view coudl grant you a far superior situation awareness.

THat is clearly a case of lack of pilot capabilities, not a problem of the module making certain mechs useless because I and several others have not even bothered with this effect.

aa but it is, It is FAR better. Because teams now can use BRAIn ansd tactical movment. That is BETTER gameplay. Your team now needs to coutner that using their own 2-3 ECM mechs patrolling with ECM on counter mode!


GOd forbitds the game evolve in a way that makes it more interestign to peopel with brains!!!

Because every mech uses lock-on weapons?

Fun fact: 4x SRM6 to the face hurts A LOT more then 4x SSRM2 to the face. And I don't even have to wait for a lock-on to shoot it.

I do not use ECM mechs but I am loving the changes it has brought to to tactical play. Im sorry (not eally) for the players whoo donot balance their mechs or learn to fight different threats. Their's a lot of way more OP consoles sure to come.

It's not that the other mechs are useless, it's just that half the mechs on the field in most 8 mans consist of 4 out of the 44 variants in the game. I played several 8 mans yesterday (40 kills that day, not sure how many games) and from what I saw most teams had 3-4 ECM mechs. Should 50% of the mechs in the match really be 9% of the mechs you can get in the game? ECM should have a use but in its current state it is required to field if you are going to be effective.

Some people are ok with that I guess. My Role is ECM because Not everyone on my unit had the mechs that can field it.

Thus I won't need to buy any more mechs and I did a few with MC before. I just wish I played the new patch a bit before I wasted money on the new hero mech.

i dropped into a match last night where my team had zero ECM and the other team had 3

we won 8 kills to 2.

Wait you are telling me that I don't have a brain because I used all of the tools available? I used situational awareness and timing to determine when to look at the mini map/map. I used tools to their fullest extent and determined strategy based upon the information available and the implications of their movements while crossreferencing what I would do in the situation to determine the best course of action.

I completely disagree I could flank without issues before by using timing and hiding my movement when the enemy was distracted...now all you have to do is make sure the enemy can't see you via LoS and run. That is a backwards movement in tactics. If you couldn't flank before...you were bad. Now any ***** can flank.

The gameplay is that of BF3 or CoD or Halo now. They are all far superior games than this one--why would I want to play this when I could play those instead? MWO WAS different and with ECM implemented it isn't.
