This is for all you Dragon fans out there. I want us to start a petition to ask the Dev's to give the hero Dragon unit jump jets. Who is with me! I really think it would make the hero Dragon Mech ( when it finally comes out ) extremely desirable and I myself would buy it without question. Maybe drop ballistics altogether and have a weapon loadout similar to the DRG-1C. What do you all think?

Not the way you want it.

Id love a dragon hero mech, but i couldn't care less about JJ's, and if it does not have a ballistic hardpoint, i would not even buy it.

I wouldn't mind it. But honestly I think the next hero-mech is going to be a Jenner, Atlas, or Catapult. Why? simply because they are extremely popular atm and cataphrats already have a heromech to match they popularity.

I just want the DRG-1G Grand Dragon.

However,

Quote

DRG-2Y Dragon Yorioshi - The personal ‘Mech of Benjamin Military District commander Warlord Syovo Yorioshi during the DCMS's Third Succession War invasion of Galtor III, all the standard weaponry of a Dragon save the left-arm mounted Medium Laser has been removed. Instead a Large Laser is mounted in the right arm, a Small Laser in the head and a SRM-4 and Flamer mounted where the LRM rack would normally be. With a single ton of SRM reloads, the weight saved allows five extra heat sinks to be carried and three more tons of armor to be added. BV (2.0) = 1,257

Energy: LA, RA, HD, CT

Missile: CT

A Grand Dragon would be good enough for me. I'd have some fun with that baby

I agree that the less popular mechs like the dragon should get hero units earlier to increase the interest in the chasis.

But jump jets on it? Not sure about that. ;)

I like that it is not popular. Usually puts me at the bottom for the focus fire, then i make them regret it ;)

It would likely be
Energy 2 RA, 1 LA, 1 HD, 1 CT

Missile: CT

This is based off the fact that other Dragons have 6 hardpoints.

Either way you get an energy boat Dragon, which we don't have yet. It would give us a fast heavy energy cavalry.

And possibly the worst variant to date!

LoL, thats just my opinion of course.

I could probable squeeze some good performance out of such a Dragon.

Well, its either that, or we get a Grand Dragon. Either would be fine.

I disagree. Slap an LRM 10, AMS, 3 Large Lasers, and 2 Medium Lasers on that thing and you could pull off some pretty nasty long range damage.

I do like the ballistic arm on the Dragon, but I wouldn't mind having an energy boat in my stable. Would definitely run it with a maxed engine ;)

Of course, a dragon that could fit an AC20... that would be really nice :)

I've been wondering about the Grand Dragon. I'm sure it's on it's way, it's too popular and too easy for them to make for it not to be. But will it be an MC only heroish mech or another Dragon variant that can be bought with cbills? Could go either way I fear.

Im not sure they would implement it in any way other than a hero mech.

Afterall, it did make the dragon obsolete, which would be awful for in game balance lol, not to mention the work they put into the dragon already.

Dragons do not mount jump jets - they're not that kind of dragon.

Hero Mechs are rolling out by weight class. It was medium, heavy - the next will be assault.

They really just need the 1G variant because that would allow Grand Dragons to be made, it is silly they still haven't added it.

And no Dragons shouldn't have JJs. Would be nice to get MASC though :D

I want a dragon with a ballistic in the ST, and one on the arm. so I can 80kph double barrel Gauss rifles :D

Serious time:

JJs would be lulz on a dragon. It's not like we weren't fast enough to get ourselves out of or into trouble as it was right? I know I'd abuse it, like it was a red headed foster child.
