I think I've been playing for right around 20 years. Started with Battletech Crescent Hawks Inception on the Amiga 500. Shortly thereafter a buddy of mine picked up the Powerhits Battletech collection and we played that and started getting into TT. I've bought, read, and played a large majority of anything associated with Battletech I could get my hands on since.
That's where I started as well, except we had it on a PC. We found a couple of the BattleTech novels at a library a few years later, and by the time my brother came home with Mechwarrior 2, we were hooked.

And I'm actually surprised that anyone outside my family still remembers Crescent Hawk's Inception. Although I really shouldn't be, considering what this website is about...

When I was a kid, I had one of these toys, along with the Longbow, Battlemaster, and Rifleman.

So if you count that, then its since I was 8.

If you count from the first Battltech book I read, I was 12.

If you count the video games then since I was 16.

I started playing when MechWarrior 3 came out in 1999, so that would be around 13 years. MechWarrior 3, MechWarrior 3 Pirates Moon, MechWarrior 4 Vengeance, MechWarrior 4 Black Knight and then the dark years until now.

I've been playing since MW 2 came out, and haven't stopped, I've been needing a new mech game for a while now, and this one is just what the doctor ordered.

I started in the late '80's with the table top game. Played many (but not all) of the PC games. I'd still love to see a computer driven old TT style game. Something with random maps, the hexes, choose your mechs and have at. Not that I'd prefer it over the "in the cockpit" system, but it would be awesome to have an old tactic style game.

I've been playing since the 80's. I even played back on Genie when they had Multiplayer Battletech running there.

It was 1995, and I was 9.

Mechwarrior 2 came out, and I instantly fell in love with the saga, read the Blood of Kerensky Trilogy, and I was a Davion from then on.

TT since late 80's when I was at college. Can't pin an exact date on it.
A friend introduced me to computer gaming around 2000.
Many hours lost in front of a screen.
