I've been playing Mechwarrior games for longer than I care to remember...it means I'm old. I started playing online with Clan Wolverine of the Grand Council/Registry Leagues under the callsign "Thulsa-Doom", back when we used KALI and our 56kbps Modems to wait online for hours for our turn to "Drop in" and fight for control of the Inner Sphere...Played every single MW related game since, including the MechCommander series...even have the T-Shirts to prove it. :P

Can't wait to see how they flesh this game out...I want my Timber Wolf back.

And @Ohgodtherats, yeah...I wish I still had all my old gaming manuals...my father-in-law accidentally disposed of all my classic gaming books...Megatraveller, 1st Edition Dungeons & Dragons, Battletech, Runequest, Twilight 2000, the whole nine yards...the thing that hurt the most was he threw my dice out along with everything else...

I'm sure the community team could probably post some interesting stats on us. Not surprised to see the large amounts of OAGs like me. :D

I've been aware of MW for longer than 19 years, but I never got my groove on until Mechwarrior 2 on PC. Before that the closest I got was X-Bomber fandom and being a massive Adeptus Titanicus fan.

Started with Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries when I was 7. Safe to say I didn't get very far.

So 16 years.

When I was 3 or 4 i watched my cousin try to teach my father and my brother how to play battletech (they were struggling). I remember the details of the figures and i have been in love ever since. I am now 25 and have been wanting a game like this almost all my life.

Been playing since I got my first copy of BT: 3rd edition in the 3rd grade, some 20 years ago. Didn't jump into the video game franchise until MW 2 Mercs, though I went back and played its predecessors.

MW 2 Mercs is still the best in the franchise though... *cough*

I feel sorta depressed when I think about it, but I started actually playing on Genesis, Battletech, where all you had was a Timberwolf/Madcat, although I had been drooling over the figurines for the board game since the mid 80's. Never got around to playing it, though I did get into the CCG for a while. Have played almost every Battletech/Mechwarrior title for PC, not counting Mech Commander or LL.

Been playing MW on and off - primarely on since theboard game in the mid 80ties.
So if you count from say 86, it makes 26 years. Prob. longer but cant remember it exactly.

Havent played as often as i wanted latly, so this is my first comeback in 5 years. But when you first get struck by the MW gameplay - it becomes a part of you.

Cant remember the dif dam on the weap thought - and find it strange that they dont inform it when in the hangar - but love this consept. (A "bit - read extreme" expensive thought - if u want to buy something with MC). Argh - ok im an older gamer - and here i go rambeling on..

Love this game

I started with the tabletop and incidentally played crescent hawks around 1990. Got really serious about the MW computer games when MW2 got out. Still own all the sourcebooks and novels. :)

1st year TT came out, then crescent hawks first came out for C64

I really liked the crescent hawks but the load times sucked going in and out of buildings and such. the puzzle part at end wasn't my style of game but still was fun.

I then picked up the PC titles as they came out as well as tt updates. I bought mech commander but because of lack of time never installed or played it. I have forgotten so much even the name of my unit in MW4 that i was with for the longest time, Played some league where fought over worlds and all that good community warfare stuff and was promoted to a postion where I helped plan movements and mech production so really was immersed but had to stop because RL intruded!

Somewhat surprised to see such a high percentage of 20+ year vets still around and ready to try new versions of BT/MW
